五、特殊數(shù)詞的用法

1.dozen

（1）意為“12個，1打”，前有基數(shù)詞時不用復數(shù)，可以省略of。

two dozen （of）eggs 兩打雞蛋　　　two dozen pencils 兩打鉛筆

dozens of eggs 幾打雞蛋　　　　　　a dozen pieces 很多片

several dozen socks 幾打襪子

（2）在人稱代詞、指示代詞、物主代詞前，of不可省。

a dozen of them 他們中十二個

two dozen of these books 這些書中的兩打

a dozen of your eggs 你的一打雞蛋

（3）泛指時dozens后的of不可省。

many/several/a few dozens of 數(shù)打

dozens of people 幾十個人

2.score

（1）意為“20個”，前有基數(shù)詞時不用復數(shù)，一般不省略of。

three score of eggs 六十只雞蛋

several scores of ships 好幾十條船

a score of times 許多次

a score of them 他們中的二十個

two score of these books 這些書中的四十本

（2）泛指時用復數(shù)

scores and scores of people 許多人

3.“大約數(shù)”的表達

（1）大于某數(shù)的表示法：用more than，over，or more

more than/over fifty people 五十多個人

children of fourteen and over 十四歲和十四歲以上的少年

sixty students or more 六十或六十多個學生

（2）小于某數(shù)的表示：用less than，under，almost，nearly，below

It cost me less than 10 pounds.我買它花了不到10英鎊。

Children under six years old are admitted free.未滿6歲的兒童可免費入場。

It’s nearly/almost 10 o’clock.快10點了。

The temperature is five degrees below zero.溫度是零下5度。

（3）其他表示：用or，or so，about，around，round，some，more or less

I’ll come back in three or four days.我過三四天就回來。

We stayed an hour or so.我們停留了一個小時左右。

It will cost around/round/about 100 dollars.那大概要花100美元。

Some 100 people attended the meeting.大約100人參加了會議。

I read more or less forty pages last night.我昨晚看了大約40頁。

【提示】 “一兩分鐘”通常用a minute or two或one or two minutes。

【答案】A 倍數(shù)表達方式之一就是“倍數(shù)+as ...as結(jié)構(gòu)”。此句中第二個as和后面的內(nèi)容都省略了。補充完整應該是...as much as that one。“錢多”概念應該用much。故選A。

【答案】D 句意：她到書店買了數(shù)十本書。表示約數(shù)時用“數(shù)詞的復數(shù)形式+of”結(jié)構(gòu)。

【答案】D 句意：這個公司過去有二十臺筆記本電腦，但只有1/3能正常使用?，F(xiàn)在我們有六十臺可以使用。由but前的分句中had判斷知句子應用一般過去時。分數(shù)（1/3）作主語時謂語動詞根據(jù)分數(shù)所代表的名詞而定；句中的1/3代指computers，故謂語動詞用復數(shù)。故選D。

4.【上?！縚_______ of the land in that district________covered with trees and grass.

A.Two fifth；isB.Two fifth；are

【答案】C 句意：那個地區(qū)五分之二的土地都覆蓋著草地和樹木。分數(shù)的分子用基數(shù)詞，分母用序數(shù)詞表示。如果分子大于1，序數(shù)詞后加-s。分數(shù)和百分數(shù)做主語時，謂語動詞的形式取決于分數(shù)和百分數(shù)后的名詞。句子中的主語land是單數(shù)，所以謂語動詞要用is covered.故選C。

5.【湖北】What a table！ I’ve never seen such a thing before.It is________it is long.

【答案】C 倍數(shù)的表達方式之一：A+is+倍數(shù)+as+adj.+as+B，意為“A是B的……倍”。故選C。

【答案】A 句意：這家工廠每年生產(chǎn)50萬雙鞋，其中80％銷往國外。80％ of which指的是80％ of the shoes，其中80％是百分數(shù)，作定語從句的主語。故選A。
