二、序數(shù)詞

1.序數(shù)詞的形式

（1）1—10

（2）11—20

（3）21—30

（4）10—90

（5）百，千，萬(wàn)

【提示】 單詞拼寫(xiě)：九nine，第九ninth，九十ninety，第九十ninetieth。

2.序數(shù)詞表示順序

Their second son is a doctor.他們的二兒子是個(gè)醫(yī)生。

The hundredth cave that George has discovered in his lifetime is near the Alps.

喬治一生中找到的第一百個(gè)山洞在阿爾卑斯山附近。

3.序數(shù)詞前的冠詞

（1）表示順序時(shí)，序數(shù)詞前加定冠詞。

It’s the third time I’ve been here.這是我第三次來(lái)這兒。

The second is better than the first.第二個(gè)比第一個(gè)好。

（2）表示“又一，再一”時(shí)，序數(shù)詞前加不定冠詞。

Having failed twice，I desired a third try.盡管失敗兩次，我渴望再試一次。

He wanted to be a second Edison.他想成為第二個(gè)愛(ài)迪生。

【比較】

①I like the third girl.我喜歡第三個(gè)女孩。（表示順序）

②I saw a third girl.我又看見(jiàn)了第三個(gè)女孩。（暗示原來(lái)已看見(jiàn)兩個(gè)，這已是第三個(gè)）4.序數(shù)詞前的零冠詞

（1）序數(shù)詞用作副詞時(shí)

He came first.他先來(lái)。

I’ll have to finish my homework first.我得先把作業(yè)做完。

（2）序數(shù)詞前有物主代詞或名詞所有格時(shí)
