三、復合不定代詞

1.基本用法

（1）something，somebody，someone用于肯定句。

This is something special.這是種特別的東西。

Somebody has stolen my dog.有人偷了我的狗。

【提示】 something，somebody，someone希望得到肯定答復時，可用于疑問句中。

— Would you like something to drink？ 你想要些喝的嗎？

— Yes，please.是的。

（2）anything，anybody，anyone用于疑問句、否定句和條件狀語從句中。

Is there anything the matter with you？ 你有什么地方不對勁嗎？

I don’t know anything about it.我對它一無所知。

I can’t meet anybody on the island.在島上，我沒遇見任何人。

If you want anything，call me，please.你要是需要什么，請叫我。

If anybody comes，ask him to wait a while.如果有人來，叫他等一會。

（3）anything，anybody，anyone表示“任何東西，任何人”時，用于肯定句。

Anybody knows the answer.任何人都知道答案。

You can take anything if you like.如果你喜歡，可以拿任何東西。

（4）nothing，nobody構成否定句。

There’s nobody there，is there？ 那兒沒有人，是嗎？

There’s nothing in the box，is there？ 盒子里沒有東西，是嗎？

【提示】 nothing，nobody作主語時，不能轉(zhuǎn)換為“anything/anybody ...not”句式。

（5）everything，everybody，everyone通常用于肯定句中。

I believe everybody can.我相信每個人都能。

Everything is ready.一切都準備好了。

（6）“every-復合不定代詞+not”表示部分否定，意為“并非都，不都”。

Not everything will go well.并非一切都會那么順利。

The teacher didn’t call everyone’s name.老師并沒有點所有人的名。

【比較】

①I can’t catch everything in the book.我沒有完全掌握書中的內(nèi)容。（部分否定）

②I can catch nothing in the book.我完全看不懂書中的內(nèi)容。（完全否定）

③I can’t catch anything in the book.我完全看不懂書中的內(nèi)容。（完全否定）

2.特殊用法

（1）復合不定代詞作主語時，謂語動詞用單數(shù)。

Everything is fine.一切正常。

Everybody is here.大家都到齊了。

（2）復合不定代詞的修飾語要后置。

This is something special.這是種特別的東西。（special修飾something）

Haven’t you got anything to do？ 你無事可干嗎？（to do修飾anything）

（3）復合不定代詞在反意疑問句中的附加問句的主語

Nobody is in the room，is he （are they）？ 屋里沒人，是不是?。浚╪obody用he或they）

Everything is ready，isn’t it？ 一切準備就緒，是不是?。浚╡verything用it）

There is nothing in the box，is there？ 盒子里沒有東西，是嗎？

（4）接“of短語”時，anyone，everyone要分開。

Every one of the students has a book.每一個學生都有書。

You can take any one of these.你可以隨便拿一個。

（5）復合不定代詞的所有格

Grammar isn’t everybody’s idea of fun.語法不是每個人都認為有趣的。

There’s somebody’s glove on the floor.某人的手套在地板上。

【提示】 后跟else時，’s形式則移至else之后。

That must be somebody else’s coat；it isn’t mine.那一定是別人的外套，不是我的。

His hair is longer than anyone else’s.他的頭發(fā)比誰都長。

3.含復合不定代詞的固定句式

anything but 并不；決不　　　　 　　nothing but 只；不過

do nothing but do sth.只有　　　　　have something to do with 與……有關

have nothing to do but/except do sth.除……之外別無辦法
