新SAT寫作中的Evidence

早在College Board一年前發(fā)布新SAT考試說明之時，新東方集團SAT考試研究院的核心教研組就開始帶領(lǐng)全國骨干教師進(jìn)行各種教研活動。針對 essay 這個SAT考試變革最大的部分，我們通過和美國權(quán)威出版商、教育機構(gòu)的交流得出的結(jié)論是：著重加強對文章的分析，尤其是論證和風(fēng)格要素。在6月新SAT OG面世后，果不其然，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)高分范文體現(xiàn)的能力要求和我們預(yù)測的高度契合!

新的寫作評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)主要包括reading, analysis, 和writing，其中的analysis對大家來講應(yīng)該是比較新穎的部分。在滿分的評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)中，明確要求一篇好的文章應(yīng)該能夠“offers a thorough,well-considered evaluation of the author’s use of evidence, reasoning, and /or stylistic and persuasive elements, and/or features(s) of the student’s own choosing”. 換句話說，考生需要去分析作者怎樣應(yīng)用證據(jù)，說理或其他有說服力的風(fēng)格要素來證明自己的觀點。

Evidence in reading passage

在仔細(xì)分析官方指南和CB公布的樣題后( “Seasons of Life and Land”, “Beyond Vietnam”, “The Digital Parent Trap”, “Let There Be Dark”, “Why Literature Matters”, “Foreign News at a Crisis Point”, “Bag Ban Bad for Freedom and Environment”)，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)其中除了兩篇演講 “Seasons of Life and Land”, “Beyond Vietnam”，其他5篇都包含了大量的evidence，也就是說，evidence構(gòu)成了作者行文的主要內(nèi)容。

In what forms?

首先我們來看一下，什么樣的內(nèi)容叫做evidence。在官方指南的第178頁是這樣描述的，“Evidence is information and ideas that the author uses to support a claim. Evidence takes many forms, … Evidence can come in the form of facts, statistics, quotations from(other) experts, the results of experiments or other research, examples, and the like…” 從這里我們不難發(fā)現(xiàn)evidence可能出現(xiàn)的形式是事實，數(shù)據(jù)，引用別人的話，實驗或研究的結(jié)果，具體的例子等。例如：
