中國(guó)人最易誤解的話第13期:你的鼻子是臘制的嗎?

　　(正譯)她沒有主見。

　　典故：

　　漢語(yǔ)中，我們要說一個(gè)人“沒有主見”時(shí)，常說他“耳根子軟”，你知道英語(yǔ)里是怎么說的嗎? 英語(yǔ)中把“耳朵”和“鼻子”錯(cuò)位了，說成a nose of wax。Are you a nose of wax?(你是一個(gè)沒有主見的人嗎?)

　　《牛津英語(yǔ)大詞典》把a(bǔ) nose of wax解釋為a personeasily influenced, one of a weak character(無(wú)主見的人、易受擺布的人)。早在1532年，這個(gè)短語(yǔ)就出現(xiàn)在書面用語(yǔ)中?，F(xiàn)在，這個(gè)短語(yǔ)不太常用，通常只有在最高法院的稱述中才能聽到這個(gè)短語(yǔ)。

　　有關(guān)nose的短語(yǔ)還有很多，例如：nose to nose(面對(duì)面)、get up one's nose(使某人非常生氣)、keep one's nose clean(行為檢點(diǎn)，不做違法的事)。
