老子《道德經(jīng)》英譯第二十七章

　　【原文】

　　善行無(wú)轍跡，善言無(wú)瑕謫(zhé);善數(shù)不用籌策;善閉無(wú)關(guān)楗(jiàn)而不可開(kāi)，善結(jié)無(wú)繩約而不可解。

　　是以圣人常善救人，故無(wú)棄人;常善救物，故無(wú)棄物。是謂襲明。

　　故善人者，不善人之師;不善人者，善人之資。不貴其師，不愛(ài)其資，雖智大迷，是謂要妙。

　　【現(xiàn)代漢語(yǔ)】

　　好的行為不留痕跡;好的言論沒(méi)有過(guò)失;好的籌劃不需借助器具;善于關(guān)閉的，不用栓銷卻使人不能開(kāi)啟;善于束縛的不用繩索卻使人不能解開(kāi)。

　　與此類似的，圣人能夠做到人盡其才，所以不會(huì)有被遺棄的人;能夠做到物盡其用，所以不會(huì)有被丟棄的物。這就是掌握了‘道’的智慧。

　　所以，有才能的人可以作為普通人的老師，普通人可以成為有才能的人提供借鑒和補(bǔ)充。不尊重老師和不珍視借鑒補(bǔ)充的行為是非常糊涂的。這是非常重要的道理。

　　【英譯】

　　A good runner leaves no track; a good speech leaves no flaws for attack; a good reckoner makes use of no tallies; a well-shut door makes use of no bolts, and nobody can open it; a good well-tied knot makes use of no rope, and nobody can unloose it.

　　In the same way the sage is always skilful at finding good qualities of people and worthiness of things. So there are no rejected people and things. The reason why the sage can do that is that he understands the wisdom of ‘Tao’ clearly.

　　So the talented person could teach the everyman, the everyman could offer assistant and warning example for the talented person. It is very important principle.
