Zhaojun Tomb

昭君墓

Zhaojun Tomb，which is called“Green Grave" of’‘Tmur Urhu:in Mongolian，is situated in the southern suburb of Hohhot， 9 kilometers away from the urban area. It is said that it is the tomb of Wang Zhaojun-a maid in the imperial palace of the Emperor Yuan Di of the Han Dynasty-volunteered to marry the chief Huhanye of Xiongnu Horde as a peace envoy. The tomb is an artificial earthen mound with a height of 33 meters. According to the legend，grass on the huge mound never turned yellow even when late autumn the green came.

昭君墓，又稱“青冢''，蒙占語(yǔ)稱特木爾鳥(niǎo)爾琥，意為“鐵壘”，位于內(nèi)蒙古呼利浩特市南呼清公路9公里處的大黑河畔，是史籍記載和民間傳說(shuō)中漢朝名妃王昭君的墓地。昭君自愿作為和平特使遠(yuǎn)嫁匈奴。昭君墓是人工積土，高達(dá)33米。據(jù)歷史記載，即使秋天到來(lái)，昭君墓周圍一也是綠樹(shù)環(huán)繞。

Zhaojun Tomb is listed among the eight most popular scenic spots in Hohhot.

昭君慕被列為呼和浩特八景之一。

In front of the tomb，bronze statues of Wang Zhaojun and her husband ( Khan)，depict a vivid picture of them riding horses and talking to each other intimately. The statues are the symbol of the friendly relations between the Han nationality and the Hui nationality，which was greatly promoted by Wang Zhaojun.

墓前矗立著王昭君和丈夫可汗的銅像，栩栩如生的雕刻，描繪了他們騎在馬上親密交談的l畫(huà)面。這也是漢回友好關(guān)系的標(biāo)志，是昭君的貢獻(xiàn)。

Behind the statues，there are several steles displaying the praises bestowed upon Wang Zhaojun. Among them，the stele marked with the poems of Dong Biwu (a modern revolutionary and a politician)is the most notable one.

雕像后放著贊頌王昭君的石碑，其中最有名的當(dāng)屬現(xiàn)代革命家、政治家董必武的詩(shī)作。

Behind the steles .stone stairs and a stone platform are connected with the Zhaojun Tomb. Upon the stone platform you can find a pavilion. The pavilion offers tourists a good position from which to overlook the scenery surrounding the tomb and the far away Mt. Yinshan.

石碑后面，石臺(tái)階和石平臺(tái)與昭君墓相連。平臺(tái)土有一個(gè)亭子，可供游客俯瞰昭君墓周邊的景色，還可以眺望遙遠(yuǎn)的銀山。

Recently，the tomb area has been developed to include cultural facilities such as a Reception Room，Exhibition Room and Painting and Calligraphy Room. The tomb has now become one of the key cultural relics under the jurisdiction of Hohhot.

最近昭君墓又被添置了許多文化設(shè)施，如接待室、展覽室和書(shū)法繪畫(huà)室。昭君墓現(xiàn)為內(nèi)蒙古自治區(qū)的重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位。

The tomb is famous for its spectacular scenery. The summer months are mild and the wild flowers and grasses grow in abundance， creating a beautiful natural picture together with the towering green trees. When autumn comes in September，unlike grasses which shriveled and yellow at this time of the year，the grass growing on the tomb is still green and vigorous.

昭君墓因其引人入勝的景觀而出名。這里夏季氣候溫和，野花和野草映襯著參天大樹(shù)，形成了一幅美好的自然畫(huà)卷。當(dāng)九月秋季到來(lái)時(shí)，不同于其他地方枯黃葉落的景象，這兒的草木依然蒼勁翠綠。
