　　Dear Miss Susie Wang,

　　Thank you very much for writing. It gave me great pleasure to receive your letter.

　　I’m not surprised that your brother didn’t give you any details about the accident, because I didn’t tell him much. Actually, I’d rather not tell too many people how it happened, since I myself am to blame for it. I am willing to tell you, though.

　　What happened is I turned right on a red light. Just as I rounded the corner, a taxi cut in front of me to pick up a passenger. I couldn’t stop or go around in time, so I ran into him and was thrown off my motorbike. Fortunately, I was wearing a helmet, but I still broke my left arm and hurt my back and left leg, too. You can be sure I’ll try to obey traffic regulations in the future.

　　對(duì)于你哥哥沒(méi)向你詳細(xì)描述那場(chǎng)車禍我并不感到意外，因?yàn)槲也](méi)有跟他說(shuō)很多。事實(shí)上，我真不愿向太多人說(shuō)那起車禍?zhǔn)窃趺窗l(fā)生的，因?yàn)槲以摓槟菆?chǎng)意外負(fù)責(zé)任。然而，我還是愿意告訴你。

　　事情的發(fā)生是因我在紅燈時(shí)右轉(zhuǎn)。正當(dāng)我彎過(guò)轉(zhuǎn)角時(shí)，一輛出租車切入我面前去搭載乘客。我無(wú)法及時(shí)停住或轉(zhuǎn)彎，所以我就撞上他，也彈離了我的摩托車。幸運(yùn)地是，我戴了安全帽，但仍摔斷了左手臂，而背部及左腿也受了傷。你可以確定我以后將會(huì)遵守交通規(guī)則了。
