三、馬上舉例說明

為什么這樣?有三個(gè)理由: ——你可以從總是在考慮下一句說什么的困境中解脫出來。因?yàn)榻?jīng)驗(yàn)很容易復(fù)述,即使即席演講也是這樣。 ——它可以幫助你漸漸進(jìn)入講演的狀態(tài)。開始時(shí)的緊張,會(huì)慢慢消失,你就有機(jī)會(huì)把自己的題材逐漸醞釀成熟。 ——你可以立即獲得聽眾的注意。因?yàn)槭录橇⒖套プ∽⒁饬Φ娜f無一失的方法。Why? For three reasons:(1) You will free yourself at once of the necessity to think hard about your next sentence, for experiences are easily recounted even in an impromptu situation. (2) You will get into the swing of speaking, and your first-moment jitters will fly away, giving you the opportunity to warm up to your subject matter. (3) You will enlist the attention of your audience at once. As pointed out in Chapter Seven. the incident-example is a surefire method of capturing attention immediately.

聽眾聚精會(huì)神地聽你充滿趣味的故事,讓你在講演開始后極短的時(shí)間里,對(duì)自己的能力重新獲得肯定——這是你很需要的東西。溝通是一種互動(dòng)的過程,能捉住聽眾注意力的人會(huì)了解到這一點(diǎn)。當(dāng)他注意到那種被接納的感覺,和那種企盼的神情如電流般在聽眾之間交流時(shí),就感到挑戰(zhàn),要他繼續(xù)盡他最大的能力去回應(yīng)。演講者與聽眾間建立的和諧關(guān)系,是一切成功演講的關(guān)鍵——沒有它,真正的溝通不可能發(fā)生。這就是我一直勸你用實(shí)例展開演講的原因,尤其是在人家請(qǐng)你說幾句話時(shí),舉例是非常管用的。An audience absorbed in the human interest aspect of your example will give you reassurance when you need it most-during the first few moments of speaking. Communication is a two-way process; the speaker who captures attention is immediately aware of it. As he notes the receptive forces and feels the glow of expectancy, like an electric current, play over the heads of his audience, he is challenged to go on, to do his best, to respond. The rapport thus established between speaker and audience is the key to all successful speaking-without it true communication is impossible. That is why I urge you to begin with an example, especially when you are called on to say a few words.
