據(jù)網(wǎng)絡(luò)資料，這首歌于1971年首次出現(xiàn)在加拿大瘋馬樂隊(duì)Crazy Horse發(fā)行的同名專輯中，此后被多人翻唱。1977年，享有"搖滾鐵公雞"美譽(yù)的Rod Stewart的翻唱使這首歌曲名聲大振。此后又有巴西爵士女伶Ive Mendes深情演繹了此曲，這首歌被Ive Mendes演繹得似乎能聞得到咖啡的芳香，一點(diǎn)性感，一點(diǎn)磁性，一點(diǎn)清新，一點(diǎn)醇厚，一點(diǎn)沙啞，一點(diǎn)頹廢，纏綿細(xì)語般的歌聲讓人內(nèi)心 淡淡感傷，令人沉醉......

出生于巴西中部Goiania首的一小村莊，從小與大自然為伍，培養(yǎng)出她樂觀開懷的人生觀。5歲開始接觸福音歌曲，之后擔(dān)任教會(huì)詩班的首席歌者，從此燃她對(duì)歌唱的熱烈的渴望，驅(qū)使Ive日后進(jìn)入巴西極高的音樂學(xué)府‘巴西利亞音樂大學(xué)’繼續(xù)追求她的夢想。此時(shí)半工半讀的Ive，不僅利用閑暇時(shí)間教小孩子音樂，晚上便到club中演唱。
畢業(yè)后，命運(yùn)牽引她來到了人文薈萃的大城市Rio里約，這朵玫瑰的音樂生涯開始發(fā)光發(fā)熱，盡情綻放。在此遇上知名的巴音音樂制作人Ricardo Leal，進(jìn)而合作錄制Ive的第一張專輯，雖然專輯中是以巴西當(dāng)?shù)亓餍械?Cazuza歌曲為主，這一步卻是她音樂生涯一大轉(zhuǎn)捩點(diǎn)。

在Rio初試啼聲后，Ive開始展露各樣的才華，嘗試從事創(chuàng)作，其中‘Casticais’便是她的寫下第一手歌曲。當(dāng)時(shí)Ive在里約首次舉辦的音樂慶典上獻(xiàn)唱此曲，她的表演不僅是擄獲在場觀察的心靈，更透過媒體的報(bào)導(dǎo)，將Ive的魅力傳遍到各地、跨越了國界族群的限制。之后她更為一出名叫‘NOVELA’的電視影集編寫歌曲并在其中表演，因此Ive Mendes搖身一變成為巴西全國上下的風(fēng)云人物，此舉也引來巴西BMG唱片公司跟她簽下唱片合約，發(fā)行了多首膾炙人口的單曲。
立足本土樂壇后，Ive于是計(jì)劃將她的歌唱事業(yè)放眼國際…
在一次電臺(tái)節(jié)目介紹中，Ive聽到DJ將她的音樂跟另外一為揚(yáng)名國際的美聲女歌手Sade相提并論，此舉激發(fā)她想要遠(yuǎn)渡重洋，找尋曾經(jīng)幫 Sade、Evertything But Girl制作專輯的重量級(jí)制作人Robin Millar幫她量身打造，一張真正屬于Ive聲線特色、國際級(jí)的個(gè)人專輯。所以Ive利用一次渡假的機(jī)會(huì)飛往了倫敦，碰運(yùn)氣地想要跟這位制作人見一面，就像是命中注定一樣，Robin正好人在倫敦，因此更加強(qiáng)了Ive見他的決心。于是透過一位歌手得到Robin的電話，Ive將她的合作意愿化為歌聲留‘言’在他的手機(jī)里面。很快地，Robin回應(yīng)她表示愿意留在倫敦幫Ive錄制唱片。之后他們便一同合作，推出 ‘Casticais’英文版本的單曲發(fā)行‘Night Night’，造成了不小的回響，還引來一家專門發(fā)行巴西跨界音樂的英國獨(dú)立廠牌 ‘Mr. Bongo’的注意。而當(dāng)Ive為Mr.Bongo工作人員表演這首歌時(shí)，辦公室空氣頓時(shí)凝結(jié)，讓在座的人員久久不相信Ive發(fā)自內(nèi)心所唱出優(yōu)質(zhì)歌喉…于是2001年3月開始在倫敦錄制個(gè)人第一張英文專輯，隔年10月便在倫敦發(fā)行，果然不負(fù)眾人期望，在銷售與樂評(píng)上都有不錯(cuò)的成績
