2016年12月英語六級翻譯練習：垃圾分類

　　隨著人民生活水平和消費水平的提高，中國的垃圾問題日益嚴峻。很多城市被垃圾包圍。面對日益增長的垃圾產(chǎn)量和環(huán)境狀況的惡化。中國政府正在努力推行垃極分類(garbageclassification)的政策。垃圾分類是指將垃圾分為可回收利用和不可回收利用兩類，要求人們將垃圾投放至不同的垃圾桶(trash can)，通過不同的清理、運輸和回收方式，使之變成新的資源。它可以減少垃圾處理量，降低處理成本，減少土地資源的消耗，對社會、經(jīng)濟、生態(tài)三方面都有益。

　　With the improvement of people's living standardsand the increase of consumption level,the garbageproblem in China becomes increasingly urgent.Manycities are surrounded by garbage.Confronted with thegrowing garbage output and deterioratingenvironment,the Chinese government is implementing the policy of garbage classificationwith great effort.Garbage classification means dividing garbage into recyclable andunrecyclable,and requires people to put garbage into different trash cans so that it can becomenew resources through different ways of cleaning,transporting and recycling.It can reduce notonly the amount of garbage that needs to be disposed,but also the deposing cost and theusage of land,benefiting our society,economy and environment.

　　1.第二句中的“面對日益增長的垃圾產(chǎn)量和環(huán)境狀況的惡化”，其邏輯主語是后面的“中國政府”，故此處可采用過去分詞短語作狀語，置于句首，譯成confronted with the growinggarbage output and deteriorating environment。

　　2.“垃圾分類是指將垃圾分為…使之變成新的資源”句子較長，由三個短句組成，第一、第二個短句主語均是“垃圾分類”，因此可用and連接兩個謂語“是指”和“要求”。“要求人們…”用require sb.to do結(jié)構(gòu)。“通過……方式使之變成新的資源”可看作是“人們將垃圾投放至不同的垃圾桶”的結(jié)果，可用so that連接，加強句子邏輯。

　　3.最后一句的主干可理解為“它可以減少…，降低…，減少…”，三個謂語動詞都可用reduce來翻譯，因此可共一個動詞，后接不同的賓語，用not only...but also...連接。“對社會、經(jīng)濟、生態(tài)三方面都有益”則可處理成現(xiàn)在分詞短語benefiting...,表結(jié)果。
