"漢字"是中國(guó)漢民族文字的簡(jiǎn)稱。漢字是世界歷史上最古老的文字，也是當(dāng)今世界上使用人數(shù)最多的文字。漢字是當(dāng)今世界上絕無(wú)僅有的"表意系統(tǒng)"的象形文字。漢字開(kāi)始成為一種成熟而系統(tǒng)的文字，始于3700年前殷商時(shí)期的甲骨文。這種刻在骨頭上的文字的出現(xiàn)，為后世漢字發(fā)展奠定了基礎(chǔ)。

"Chinese Characters" refer to the written language of the Chinese Han nationality. This language is the oldest and most widely used across the world. Chinese Characters are the world's only "ideographic-system based" hieroglyphics. Chinese grew into a mature and systematic language, known as the Oracle Bone Scripts, over 3700 years ago during the Shang Dynasty. The language carved on bones laid the foundation for further development of Chinese language in later dynasties.
