托福寫作復(fù)合句的使用技巧

　　托福寫作的提高并非一日之功，復(fù)雜句式的使用當(dāng)然更依賴大量的閱讀和聯(lián)系。然而想要寫出比較好的從句，其實(shí)也是有技巧的。就拿一位同學(xué)寫過的一篇作文來舉一個(gè)例子，來看這道托福作文：

　　Some people like to record their life by sharing pictures and other information on social networking sites. Others keep this information to themselves and never share it online. Which do you prefer?

　　有一位同學(xué)其中一段的觀點(diǎn)是，通過在社交網(wǎng)站上分享個(gè)人信息，人們可以更好的留存自己的記憶。其中例子部分他時(shí)這樣寫的：

　　Last year is my parents' 20th anniversary of marriage. I gave them CDs and photos as gift. These CDs and photos are collected from their Facebook home pages. After receiving my gift, they were deeply impressed.

　　可以看出，這個(gè)段落犯了許多同學(xué)容易犯的問題——依然是簡單句的大量堆砌。然而，想要把這段文字改正比較好的復(fù)合句，其實(shí)并不難，首先我們要從每一句話在這個(gè)例子中所起的作用是什么：

　　Last year is my parents' 20th anniversary of marriage. 這句說的是時(shí)間發(fā)生的時(shí)間

　　I gave them CDs and photos as gift. 這是整件事的核心。

　　These CDs and photos are collected from their Facebook home pages. 這是對禮物的句子描述，也就是定語。

　　After receiving my gift, they were deeply impressed. 這句說的是時(shí)間發(fā)生之后的結(jié)果。

　　這樣分析就非常簡單了，只要把每一個(gè)部分起到的作用后面加上“從句”兩個(gè)字，這個(gè)句子的改寫方法就呼之欲出了。

　　Last year is my parents' 20th anniversary of marriage.可以改成時(shí)間狀語從句，加上when

　　I gave them CDs and photos as gift.不變

　　These CDs and photos are collected from their Facebook home pages.可改成定語從句，加上which

　　After receiving my gift, they were deeply impressed.可改成結(jié)果狀語從句，也可以選擇用非謂語動(dòng)詞表示結(jié)果。

　　把這些句子重新組合在一起，就可以這樣寫：

　　For instance, when it comes to my parents' 20th anniversary of marriage last year, I gave them CDs and photos, which were collected from their Facebook home pages, as gift, impressing them deeply.

　　由此我們可以看出，只需要適當(dāng)?shù)男薷?，剛才還是簡單句的羅列，現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)成為了比較規(guī)范的復(fù)合句。自然這些句子還可以寫得更好，如可以選擇更貼切的詞匯。但對于許多還不習(xí)慣使用復(fù)合句的學(xué)生而言，這已經(jīng)是符合ETS要求的規(guī)范的句式。
