四川大學(xué)是教育部直屬全國重點(diǎn)大學(xué)，是國家“211工程”和“985工程”重點(diǎn)建一設(shè)的大學(xué)。

SCU is located in Chengdu，。culturally and historically noticeable city.adjacent to the Jinjiang River and its tributary Jiang'an River. The University consists of 3 Campuses of Wangjiang，Huaxi and Jiang'an，covering an area of over 470. 2 hectares with a total floorage of 2. 35 million square meters. SCU is the ideal place for academic studies and researches with the campuses set in agreeable environment of green plants，lawns and trees.

四少11大學(xué)地處中國歷史文化名城—“天府之國”的成都市區(qū)。學(xué)校設(shè)望江、華西和江安等三個(gè)校區(qū)，占地面積470. 2公傾，校舍建筑面積235萬平方米。校園環(huán)境幽雅、花木繁茂、碧草如茵、景色宜人，是讀書治學(xué)的理想園地。

At present，SCU has 30 colleges and eleven disciplines of literature，science，technology，medicine，economics，management, law, history，philosophy, agriculture and education. There are 15 key disciplines at the national level，14“Project 211”key construction disciplines，66 key disciplines at the provincial and ministerial level，27 first-category disciplines to grant Doctor's degree and Master's degree，213 doctor programs，330 master programs，6 specialized degree programs，118 bachelor programs，21 post-doctorate research stations，6 national bases for personnet training in basic disciplines and scientific research and a national base for the improvernent of college students' cultural qualities.

學(xué)校設(shè)30個(gè)學(xué)院，學(xué)科覆蓋了文、理、工、醫(yī)、經(jīng)、管、法、史、哲、農(nóng)、教等11個(gè)門類，有15個(gè)國家重點(diǎn)學(xué)科，14個(gè)“211工程”重點(diǎn)建設(shè)學(xué)科，66個(gè)部省級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科，27個(gè)一級(jí)學(xué)科博、碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)，213個(gè)博士點(diǎn)，330個(gè)碩士點(diǎn)，8個(gè)專業(yè)學(xué)位點(diǎn)，118個(gè)本科專業(yè)，21個(gè)博士后科研流動(dòng)站，6個(gè)國家人才培養(yǎng)和科學(xué)研究及課程教學(xué)基地，一個(gè)國家大學(xué)生文化素質(zhì)教育基地。

SCU has a current total staff of 11 357，among whom 1 195 are professors，2 204 associate professors，9 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering，22 special academicians，2 outstanding professors of liberal arts，1 outstanding professor of science，17 members of the Academic Degrees Committee and the Discipline Appraisal Group under the State Council，3 top scientists of the national“973 project”，12 posts of the“Cheungkong Scholars Program”for specially engaged professors plus 4 lecture professors.

學(xué)校有在職教職工11 357人，其中教授1 195人，副教授2 204人，中國科學(xué)院和中國工程院院士9人、特聘院士22人，文科杰出教授2人，理科杰出教授1人，國務(wù)院學(xué)位委員會(huì)委員及學(xué)科評(píng)議組成員17人，國家“973計(jì)劃”項(xiàng)目首席科學(xué)家3人，“長江學(xué)者獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)計(jì)劃”特聘教授12人和講座教授4人。

SCU has 35 523 full-time undergraduates，16 117 master and doctor degree candidates and 565 overseas students. In addition，SCU has students of adult education and on-line education.

學(xué)校有全日制普通本科生35 523人，碩博士生16 117人，外國留學(xué)生565人。此外，學(xué)校還有成人高等教育學(xué)生和網(wǎng)絡(luò)教育學(xué)生。

The university library has a collection of 5.5 million volumes.The university museum is the only one of its kind in China with a comprehensive collection of cultural relics over 40 000 pieces，and animal and plant specimens over 600 000 pieces，ranking first in its holdings among the others in China.

四川大學(xué)圖書館藏書550萬余冊(cè)，校博物館是國內(nèi)高校僅有的綜合性博物館，珍藏文物4萬余件。自然博物館收藏動(dòng)、植物標(biāo)本60萬余件(份)。

Glorious History 歷史變遷

1896 Sichuan Zhong-Xi Xuetang(Sichuan Chinese and Western School)，the precedessor of SCU，was established.

1896年四川大學(xué)的前身四川中西學(xué)堂創(chuàng)建。

1902 It was merged with Jinjiang Shuyuan and Zunjing Shuyuan to form Sichuan Great Xuetang.

1902年四川中西學(xué)堂與錦江書院、尊經(jīng)書院合并成立四川大學(xué)堂。

1916 It was renamed National Chengdu Normal Academy

1916年更名為國立成都高等師范學(xué)校。

1926 It was renamed National Chengdu University.

1926年更名為國立成都大學(xué)。

1931 It was merged with National Chendgu Normal University and Public Sichuan University to form National Sichuan University.

1931年與國立成都師范大學(xué)、公立四川大學(xué)合并成立國立四川大學(xué)。

1950 It was renamed Sichuan University.

1950年更名為四川大學(xué)。

1994 Sichuan University and Chengdu University of Science and Technology were merged to form Sichuan United University.

1994年與成都科技大學(xué)合并成立四川聯(lián)合大學(xué)。

1998 It was resumed its name as Sichuan University.

1998年更名為四川大學(xué)。

2000 Sichuan University was merged with West China University of Medical Science into the present Sichuan University.

2000年與華西醫(yī)科大學(xué)合并組建新的四川大學(xué)。
