General Information 基本概況

Jilin University(JLU)is a state key comprehensive university under the direct
jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. JLU is one of the first national“Project 211”universities and one of the universities listed in the state“Project 985”for key construction.

吉林大學(xué)是教育部直屬的一所全國重點(diǎn)綜合性大學(xué)，是首批進(jìn)人國家"211工程”建設(shè)的高校，2001年被列入“985工程”國家重點(diǎn)建設(shè)的大學(xué)之一。

JLU is located in Changchun，the capital city of Jilin Province in
Northeastern China. JLU campus covers a total area of 6.61 million square meters
with 3.4 million square meters of floor space including eight campuse in six
districts.The University Library has a collection of 5. 51 million books and is
designated as the library of UNESCO，UNIDO and World Bank. It also serves as the
Comprehensive Information Center of Liberal Arts of the Education Ministry，the
only Foreign Scientific Text Book Center in Northeast China，and the National
Humanities and Social Science Higher Education Books Import Center. It is one of
the seven centers of China Academic Library and Information System(CALIS) Center
in Northeast China.

吉林大學(xué)坐落在占林省省會(huì)長春市，吉林大學(xué)校園占地面積661萬多平方米，校舍建筑面積近310萬平方米，分為6個(gè)校區(qū)8個(gè)校園。學(xué)校圖書館各類藏書551萬冊(cè)，已被確定為聯(lián)合國教科文組織、聯(lián)合國工業(yè)發(fā)展組織和世界銀行的藏書館，并目_是教育部人文學(xué)科綜合信息中心、國家人文社科高等教育圖書進(jìn)日中心。經(jīng)教育部批準(zhǔn)建設(shè)在校的CALIS東北地區(qū)中心為全國七大中心之一。

The University has a variety of disciplines covering 12 disciplinary
areas，including philosophy，economics，law, education，literature，history，science，engiveering，agriculture，medicine，management and military science. JLU offers a variety of degree programs. It has now 129 undergraduate programs，28 programs in the first level disciplines，278 master's degree program，191 doctoral degree programs，and 27 post-doctoral research stations. There are 17 state key disciplines.

吉林大學(xué)學(xué)科門類齊全，涵蓋哲學(xué)、經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、法學(xué)、教育學(xué)、文學(xué)、歷史學(xué)、理學(xué)、工學(xué)、農(nóng)學(xué)、醫(yī)學(xué)、管理學(xué)、軍事學(xué)等全部12大學(xué)科門類;有本科專業(yè)129個(gè)，一級(jí)學(xué)科學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)28個(gè)，碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)278個(gè)，博士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)191個(gè)，博士后科研流動(dòng)站27個(gè);有國家重點(diǎn)學(xué)科17個(gè)。

At present there are 5 937 faculty members，including 1 325 full
professors,737 doctorate supervisors，19 academicians of the Chinese Academy of
Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering，2 scientists-in-chief of the state
“Project 973”，1:} middle-age experts with outstanding contributions at the
national level .l6 special professors of “Cheungkong Scholars Program”，17
recipients of National Outstanding Youth Foundation，2 members of Degree
Appraisal Committee of the State Council，17 members of the Subject Assessment
Division , Degree Appraisal Committee of the Slate Council，and 2
experts-in-chief of the Central Research and Construction Project of Marxism
Theory.

學(xué)校師資力量雄厚，有教師5 937人，其中教授1325人，博士生指導(dǎo)教師737人，中國科學(xué)院和中國工程院院士19人，國家“973”項(xiàng)目首席科學(xué)家2人，國家有突出貢獻(xiàn)的中青年專家14人，教育部“長江學(xué)者獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)計(jì)劃”特聘教授16人，國家杰出青年基金獲得者17人，國務(wù)院學(xué)位委員會(huì)委員2人，國務(wù)院學(xué)位委員會(huì)學(xué)科評(píng)議組成員17人，中央馬克思主義理論研究和建設(shè)工程項(xiàng)目首席專家2人。

JLU is among the first 22 universities authorized to establish the postgraduate school and has perfected a complete high一}eve! talent education system of undergraduate，master's degree，and doctoral degree. The University has an enrollment of a tcfal of 63 432 full time students，including 19 679 graduated and doctoral degree students，852 overseas students and 15 967 students of adult education.

吉林大學(xué)是首批建立研究生院的22所大學(xué)之一，現(xiàn)已建立起學(xué)士一一碩十—博士完整的高水平人才培養(yǎng)體系。在校全日制學(xué)生63 432人，其中博士生、碩士生19679人，留學(xué)生852人，另有成人教育學(xué)生15 967人。

the University has 190 laboratories with modern facilities，among them are 6
key research bases for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of
Education,5 innovation bases for philosophy and social sciences of "Project 985"
at the second period,8 innovation platforms for sciences and technology of
"Project 985" at the second period，5 state key laboratories，10 key laboratories
of the Ministry of Education，and 13 key laboratories of the other ministries and
commissions.

學(xué)校擁有190個(gè)具有現(xiàn)代化研究手段的實(shí)驗(yàn)室，其中教育部人文社會(huì)科學(xué)重點(diǎn)研究基地6個(gè)，"985工程”二期建設(shè)哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)創(chuàng)新基地5個(gè)，"985工程”二期建設(shè)科技創(chuàng)新平臺(tái)8個(gè)，國家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室5個(gè)，教育部重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室10個(gè)，其他部委重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室13個(gè)。

Glorious History 歷史變遷

1946 Northeast Administration Institute，the predecessor of Jilin
University，was established.

1946年原吉林大學(xué)的前身東北行政學(xué)院始建。

1950 It was renamed Northeast People University.

1950年更名為東北人民大學(xué)。

1958 It was renamed Jilin University.

1958年更名為吉林大學(xué)。

2000 The five universities of former Jilin University，Jilin University of
Technology，Bethune Medical University，Changchun University of Science and
Technology， and Changchun University of Posts and Telecommunications merged to
form a new Jilin University.

2000年原吉林大學(xué)、吉林工業(yè)大學(xué)、白求恩醫(yī)科大學(xué)、長春科技大學(xué)、長春郵電學(xué)院合并組建成新的吉林大學(xué)。

2004 The former PLA University of Munition merged into JLU.

2004年原中國人民解放軍軍需大學(xué)并人吉林大學(xué)。
