General Information 基本概況

Tianjin Medical University,founded in 1951 with the name of Tianjin Medical
Institute，was the first medical institution approved by the State Council of the
People's Republic of China and is a state key university. Dr. Hsien-I Chu，a
renowned endocrinologist，was the first president of the university. Having been
striving for more than 50 years，the University has developed into a medical
university featuring all kinds of disciplines and specialties in clinical
medicine，nursing science，medical techniques，pharmacy and medical laboratory
science.

天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)的前身天津醫(yī)學(xué)院創(chuàng)建于1951年，是新中國成立后國家政務(wù)院批準(zhǔn)新建的第一所高等醫(yī)學(xué)院校，著名內(nèi)分泌學(xué)家、醫(yī)學(xué)教育家朱憲彝教授首任校長。經(jīng)過5()多年的努力，天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)已經(jīng)發(fā)展為涵蓋臨床醫(yī)學(xué)、護(hù)理學(xué)、醫(yī)藥技術(shù)、藥劑學(xué)和醫(yī)藥實驗科學(xué)等學(xué)科和專業(yè)的多科性醫(yī)科大學(xué)。

Tianjin Medical University is conveniently situated in the central area of
Tianjinand the total area occupied by the university is 400000 square
meters.

天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)位于天津市區(qū)中心，交通便利。校園占地40萬平方米。

TMU has 16 academic schools，4 academic departments and 3 teaching
departments. It has 3 post Ph. D movable stations，44 doctoral specialties as
well as 61 master's specialties，which have formed an integrated education and
training system to produce qualified bachelor-master-doctor-post Ph. D medical
professionals. The University has six university hospitals，three affiliated
hospitals and over thirty teaching hospitals. Five thousand beds are available
for the medical teaching，medical internship and medical practice.

The university has a great number of well-known professors and scholars
world-wide. There is a total number of 8 419 staff members，in which there are
5946 professionals，including 485 full professors，877 associate professors，118
doctoral supervisors，500 master supervisors，2 academicians of Chinese.Academy of
Engineering，13 professors invited on“Cheungkong Scholars Program" or state
Your}c} Experts with Outstanding Contributions，135 recipients of special
subsidies from the State Council and 28 experts authorized by the Municipal
Government of Tianjin.

學(xué)校擁有一批國內(nèi)外知名的教授、學(xué)者，現(xiàn)有教職工8
419人，其中專任教師5946人，正高級專業(yè)技術(shù)人員485人，副高級專業(yè)技術(shù)人員877人，博士生導(dǎo)師118人，碩士生導(dǎo)師500名。中國工程院院士2人，“長江學(xué)者”特聘教授等進(jìn)人國家級人才資助項目人員、國家人事部、衛(wèi)生部有突出貢獻(xiàn)的中青年專家13人，享受國務(wù)院政府特貼專家135人，天津市授銜專家28人。

TMU has a total number of more than 7 500 fulltime students，including 1 600
postgraduates and 780 overseas students

The University Library has a collection of 5. 1 million volumes and 1 600
kinds of journals，which was designated as Central Library by the Ministry of
Health.The computer network including Internet has been opened for medical
education，Longdistance Medical Education，E-mail，Document Transit etc.

學(xué)校圖書館也稱為衛(wèi)生部中心圖書館，藏書510余萬冊，各類期刊1
600余種。開放連接互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的計算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)，供醫(yī)學(xué)教育、遠(yuǎn)程醫(yī)學(xué)教育、文件傳送與接收等使用。

Tianjin Medical University has established a broad cooperative relationship
with more than 50 universities and research institutions in foreign countries
and has invited 108 world-renowned medical experts as honorary professors or
resident professors in various disciplines. 36 international academic
conferences have been successfully held

學(xué)校先后與世界SO余所大學(xué)和研究機(jī)構(gòu)建立了學(xué)術(shù)交流與合作關(guān)系，聘請了108位世界知名醫(yī)學(xué)專家、教授擔(dān)任我校各學(xué)科的名譽(yù)教授和客座教授，先后成功舉辦了36場國際學(xué)術(shù)會議。

Glorious History 歷史變遷

1951 Tianjin Medical Institute，the predecessor of Tianjin Medical
University，was founded.

1951年天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)的前身天津醫(yī)學(xué)院創(chuàng)建。

1958 Tianjin Medical Institute was renamed Tianjin Medical University.

1958年天津醫(yī)學(xué)院更名為天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)。

1962 Tianjin Medical University and Tianjin Medical Institute of Tianjin
Bureau ofHealth merged and restored its original name of Tianjin Medical
Institute.

1962年天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)與市衛(wèi)生局所屬的天津醫(yī)學(xué)院合并，恢復(fù)原名天津醫(yī)學(xué)院。

1994 Tianjin Medical Institute and Tianjin Second Medical Institute merged
toform Tianjin Medical University.

1994年天津醫(yī)學(xué)院與天津第二醫(yī)學(xué)院合并組建天津醫(yī)科大學(xué)。
