A: Welcome to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus!

歡迎來(lái)到伯利恒，耶穌誕生地。

B: Thank you! I've always wanted to make a pilgrimage here. Can I see where he was born?

謝謝！我一直想來(lái)這里朝拜。我能看到他的出生地嗎？

A: No one knows that. Some think he was born in a cowshed and others in a cave. In either case there is nothing remaining here now.

沒(méi)有人知道具體的地方。有人認(rèn)為他生在牛棚里，還有一些人認(rèn)為他在山洞里出生。無(wú)論是哪種情況，現(xiàn)在是什么都沒(méi)有留下來(lái)。

B: How long did he live here?

他在這兒生活了多久？

A: Just for a couple of years until his parents fled to Egypt to avoid persecution from King Herod.

只住了幾年，然后為了躲避希律王的迫害，他父母就帶他逃到了埃及。

B: I remember, Herod had been told that a king had been born here and so he determined to kill his potential rival although Jesus was only a baby.

我記得，那個(gè)時(shí)候一直有人告訴希律王，說(shuō)有個(gè)國(guó)王誕生于此。為了保住王位．希律就下決心殺死所有可能對(duì)他有威脅的人，盡管耶穌當(dāng)時(shí)還只是個(gè)嬰兒。

A: Later Jesus came back to Israel after Herod died and the family lived in Nazareth.

后來(lái)，希律王死后，耶穌又回到了以色列，一家人就住在拿撤勒。

B: There he had several brothers and sisters too.

就是在這個(gè)地方他又有了幾個(gè)弟弟和妹妹。

A: That's right and then when he was thirty years old he began his public ministry around the Sea of Galilee.

是這樣，然后他30歲時(shí)開(kāi)始在加利利海周圍地區(qū)傳教。

B: That's why so many of his early disciples were fishermen like Peter and James and John.

這就是為什么他早年的很多弟子都是漁民的原因，比如彼得、雅各和約翰。

A: And he did so many miracles like feeding the 5, 000,  tuming water into wine and walking on water.

而且他還做了很多奇事，像喂飽了5000人、把水變成葡萄酒、在水上行走等。

B: Not forgetting healing the blind, the lame and the sick. Although I think his greatest miracle was to bring Lazarus back from the dead.

別忘了他還治好了盲人、瘸子和病人。不過(guò)我認(rèn)為他最偉大的奇跡是讓拉撤路起死回生。

A: He was a great teacher and many of the stories he told like the Prodi Son and the Lost Sheep have been enjoyed by young and old.

他還是個(gè)偉大的老師，一直以來(lái)他講的很多故事都是老少皆宜，比如“浪子回頭”和“迷途羔羊”的故事。

B: I think the greatest tragedy was that most of his own people. the Jews, never believed that he was the Son of God.

我認(rèn)為最大的悲哀是他的大多數(shù)猶太同胞從來(lái)就不相信他是上帝之子。

A: The Jews were expecting the Messiah to come but they expected someone who would rid them of them Roman conquerors not one who would be crucified on a cross.

猶太人一直盼望著復(fù)國(guó)救世主彌賽亞的到來(lái)，他們盼的是能幫助他們擺脫羅馬征服者統(tǒng)治的人，而不是釘死在十字架上的人。

B: We Christians believe that Jesus died for all our sins and that one day he will return to put an end to all wars and suffering．

我們基督教認(rèn)為耶穌是為了替我們贖罪而死的，他們相信有一天他會(huì)回來(lái)結(jié)束一切戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)和苦難。

A: We Jews believe that Jesus was a great prophet but that to call himself God was blasphemy.

我們猶太人認(rèn)為耶穌是個(gè)偉大的預(yù)言家，但他自稱為上帝是對(duì)神明的褻瀆。

B: I understand that. I guess the best thing to do is to understand each other's religion and agree to disagree agreeably, right?
