A: Well, Todd, since you've asked me about San Francisco, tell me, have you ever been to Prague?
 
托德，你問過我對(duì)舊金山的印象，現(xiàn)在我來問你，你去過布拉格嗎？
 
B: I have been to Prague. Actually, I lived in Prague for about a week, or two weeks.
 
我去過布拉格。我在布拉格住了有一兩周的時(shí)間。
 
A: OK.
 
好。
 
B: A long time ago.
 
那是很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間以前的事了。
 
A: Wow.
 
哇。
 
B: Right out of college.
 
大學(xué)畢業(yè)以后我就去了布拉格。
 
A: Really. And how did you like it?
 
真的嗎？那你覺得布拉格怎么樣？
 
B: Well, it was great. It was one of the first European cities I went to, and it was so different from America, and I thought the architecture downtown was really beautiful.
 
布拉格非常棒。那里是我去的首批歐洲城市之一，布拉格與美國完全不同，我認(rèn)為布拉格市中心的建筑非常漂亮。
 
A: So what was your first impression when you got there?

B: Well, when I first got there, I had no place to stay, and this young kid came up to me and convinced me to live in his house.
 
我剛到布拉格時(shí)沒有地方住，有個(gè)小孩走過來讓我住到他家里去。
 
A: Wow!

B: So they... his mother was renting rooms to foreigners, so I lived with a Czech family for about ten days.

A: Really, so did you eat Czech food?
 
真的嗎？那你有吃捷克食物嗎？
 
B: I did, but you know I don't remember anything about it. It was so long ago. It seemed really good though.

A: I guess. I like it. So what did you do in Prague? What did you see there?

B: Well, of course I went to the downtown area which had the castle and the bridge and lots of the old buildings, and I just took local transportation. I took the... I guess it's not a subway or...

A: It is. You can call it a subway. We call it the Metro.

B: Yeah, I took the Metro to different places and I took buses and just walked around the city and I had a good time.
 
對(duì)，我坐地鐵去了很多地方，我也乘坐了公交車，還在城市周圍漫步，我度過了美好的時(shí)光。
 
A: Did you find it cheap or expensive compared to the States?
 
你認(rèn)為捷克的交通費(fèi)用比美國便宜還是貴？
 
B: Well, it was really cheap, but at that time I was working in Europe and I had no money, so I still was very poor.
 
捷克的交通費(fèi)非常便宜，不過當(dāng)時(shí)我還在歐洲工作，沒有多少錢，所以我當(dāng)時(shí)很窮。
 
A: Hmm, I see.

B: Yeah, so now... I was in Prague, you know, 12 years ago. Do you think the city changed a lot since I was there?
 
我是12年前去的布拉格。和那時(shí)相比，你認(rèn)為現(xiàn)在布拉格的變化大嗎？
 
A: It's changed very much. I guess since the fall of Communism in 1989, the city started changing at that time and it's still changing. It's become very modern. Of course the historical parts are still preserved. You're not allowed to build skyscrapers or very tall buildings. It's good because after the fall of Communism a lot of the buildings were renovated, so the whole city looks like it's new. It's old new.
 
變化非常大。1989年捷克的共產(chǎn)主義時(shí)代結(jié)束，從那時(shí)開始布拉格就開始了變化，現(xiàn)在這個(gè)城市仍然在變化中。布拉格變得更加現(xiàn)代。當(dāng)然城市中的歷史部分也保留了下來。布拉格不允許建造摩天大樓或過高的大樓。我認(rèn)為這點(diǎn)很好，因?yàn)樵诠伯a(chǎn)主義時(shí)代結(jié)束后，許多大樓都翻新了，所以現(xiàn)在整座城市看上去都很新。新舊并存。
 
B: Yeah.

A: It's very colorful. It's just beautiful. Yeah.
 
布拉格是座色彩豐富的城市。非常漂亮。
 
B: Yeah, I remember, the city almost looked like a museum because the buildings were just so pristine and perfect.
 
我記得布拉格看上去像座博物館，因?yàn)槟抢锏慕ㄖ儍粲滞昝馈?br />  
A: Yeah. It's... I personally just love walking through the streets. You can never get tired of that.

B: Well, hopefully I can go back again someday.
