南非有很多高山，那里的自然環(huán)境適合徒步嗎

A: Peter, you're from South Africa, right?
 
彼得，你來(lái)自南非，對(duì)嗎？
 
B: That's right, yeah.

A: I heard there's a lot of beautiful mountains that are famous for hikes. Is that true?
 
我聽(tīng)說(shuō)南非有很多漂亮的高山，非常適合徒步。是這樣嗎？
 
B: That's true, yeah. Actually, I've been hiking since I was in elementary school really because there's so much, there are so many hikes to go on. The area that I grew up is actually quite close to the Drakensberg which is a famous mountain range in South Africa and it runs almost the whole length of the country and there are so many hikes, camping spots, places that you could go to and the hikes that you can go on for like a day, or two days, a week, ten days, a month if you want to. Really so much so I used to go most, I guess most holidays, or twice or three times a year even go hiking.
 
沒(méi)錯(cuò)。我從小學(xué)開(kāi)始徒步旅行，因?yàn)橛泻芏嗫梢酝讲降牡胤?。我成長(zhǎng)的地方離德拉肯斯山很近，這座山是南非著名的山脈，幾乎橫跨整個(gè)南非，有很多徒步旅行地和露營(yíng)地，你可以選擇為期一天、兩天、一周或是10天的徒步旅行路線。有很多路線可以選擇，我以前在節(jié)假日會(huì)去徒步旅行，一年大概去兩三次。
 
A: That sounds great. Is it safe? Are there any dangerous animals like snakes?
 
聽(tīng)起來(lái)太棒了。那安全嗎？有沒(méi)有蛇之類的危險(xiǎn)動(dòng)物？
 
B: I guess, hmm I guess I'd have to say yes to that but in all my years of hiking, I have, I have seen many snakes but I've never been bitten or even felt in danger. Like once or twice maybe but South Africa is like also famous for its many poisonous snakes and there are quite a few things that you'd rather avoid but I guess, especially in the Drakensberg, the altitude for the mountains it's quite high so not many dangerous animals live at high altitude if I can put it that way. So it's really, it's really kind of, yeah, it's not dangerous I would say. Like obviously you have to take care and, you know, go during times of the year that is less, that you are less likely to get caught in a snowstorm or get snowed in or freeze to death or something but I think if you take adequate preparation there shouldn't be any problem and it's really gorgeously beautiful.
 
我想應(yīng)該是有的，不過(guò)雖然我徒步旅行時(shí)看到過(guò)很多蛇，但是我從來(lái)沒(méi)有被蛇咬傷過(guò)，我也沒(méi)有感覺(jué)到危險(xiǎn)。南非也因有許多毒蛇而聞名，有許多事是你最好避免的，不過(guò)尤其像德拉肯斯山這樣的地方海拔非常高，可以說(shuō)，生活在高海拔的危險(xiǎn)動(dòng)物并不多。所以我認(rèn)為那里并不是很危險(xiǎn)。顯然，你要小心，選擇在一年中不會(huì)被暴風(fēng)雪困住或是不會(huì)被凍僵的時(shí)間去徒步，在準(zhǔn)備充足的情況下，應(yīng)該不會(huì)有任何問(wèn)題，那里真的非常壯美。
 
A: It sounds really nice. Is it easy to get to? Do you need a car to get around?
 
聽(tīng)起來(lái)真好。去那里方便嗎？需要車嗎？
 
B: Yes. Mostly you should, you should, you need a car and in some places you'd even need a...
 
需要。你需要開(kāi)車去一些地方，你甚至還需要……
 
A: Helicopter?
 
直升飛機(jī)？
 
B: No. I guess you could go with a helicopter but like if you have something like a Land Rover or a Land Cruiser or a four by four vehicle of some kind then you could get even into more beautiful places and more far away distant places that I would recommend even more. There are really so many places you can go to.
 
不是，我想你可以坐直升飛機(jī)去，不過(guò)如果你開(kāi)路虎或是豐田陸地巡洋艦或是四驅(qū)車，你可以去更多美麗的地方，可以去更遠(yuǎn)的地區(qū)，我可以推薦。有很多地方可以去。
 
A: It sounds really great. I'll ask you again. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to visit South Africa.

B: Yes, you should, you should go I say. Do you like hiking?
 
你應(yīng)該去。你喜歡徒步旅行嗎？
 
A: I do but I hardly ever go, you know, as you get so busy with your daily life and I like the idea of hiking but I hardly ever go, do any sort of outdoor activity but yeah I guess it's a good thing to do during holidays.
 
我喜歡，不過(guò)我很少去，因?yàn)槿粘Ｉ钐α?，我很喜歡徒步，不過(guò)我很少有機(jī)會(huì)進(jìn)行戶外活動(dòng)，不過(guò)我想可以在節(jié)假日去。
 
B: Hmm.
 
嗯。
 
A: Yeah, when I was a kid we often went to the mountains with my parents so we would go for walks, short hikes, that kind of thing.
 
我小時(shí)候經(jīng)常和父母一起去山區(qū)玩，我們會(huì)散步、短程徒步。
 
B: OK.
 
好。
 
A: But yeah then one just gets a bit busy with the daily life so I kind of forgot.
 
但是后來(lái)生活忙碌了以后，我就忘了這種活動(dòng)了。
 
B: Yeah, life really has a way to get away with one, it really goes fast.
