南非有哪些有趣的戶外活動(dòng)

A: So you mentioned hiking. I think South Africa must have a lot of outdoor activities, right?
 
你提到了徒步旅行。我想南非一定有很多戶外活動(dòng)，對(duì)吧？
 
B: Hmm.
 
對(duì)。
 
A: Some extreme sports?
 
極限運(yùn)動(dòng)嗎？
 
B: Right, right. Yeah, it's, actually for a dry country it's interesting that it has so many water sports, people that really love water sports too especially on the eastern side of the country because it's tropical warm climate year round. The sea temperature is quite warm and at the same time it has a lot of really big waves so I think two of the world's biggest surfing events are held in South Africa yearly. The one is near Jeffreys Bay and the other one is near Durban and that's where all the world's surf champions come to surf and test their skills. But if you're not into surfing you can go wind surfing which actually on the eastern coast is really famous because of the strong winds over there and the relatively, not calm seas, but actually there's a lot of open plains to do wind surfing on so it's really famous for that. And then like skiing and water skiing of course really famous too. People really enjoy the water sports.
 
對(duì)，沒(méi)錯(cuò)。一個(gè)干旱的國(guó)家有很多水上運(yùn)動(dòng)，這點(diǎn)很有意思，人們喜歡水上運(yùn)動(dòng)，南非東部地區(qū)的人們尤其喜歡水上運(yùn)動(dòng)，因?yàn)槟戏侨甓际菬釒嘏瘹夂颉：Ｋ疁囟确浅嘏?，而且還有很多巨浪，所以世界兩大年度沖浪賽事選在南非舉行。其中一個(gè)賽事在杰佛瑞灣附近舉行，另一個(gè)在德班附近舉行，屆時(shí)世界沖浪冠軍都會(huì)來(lái)到這兩個(gè)地方?jīng)_浪，測(cè)試他們的技巧。但是如果你不喜歡沖浪，你可以去玩帆板，東海岸的帆板運(yùn)動(dòng)很出名，因?yàn)槟抢镉袕?qiáng)風(fēng)，海面相對(duì)不太平靜，不過(guò)有很多開(kāi)闊的地帶可以進(jìn)行帆板運(yùn)動(dòng)，那里非常出名。當(dāng)然那里的滑冰和水上滑冰也很出名。人們非常喜歡水上運(yùn)動(dòng)。
 
A: Great. I also heard about diving.

B: Ah, yeah.

B: Yeah, that's, one, two interesting things. One is shark cage diving that people are really, have in recent years become interested in.

A: That sounds scary.

B: I think it is. One of the, actually the breeding colonies of the great white shark is in South Africa, I think the other one is in Australia, and people come there to go down in big steel cages to go and see some of these huge sharks and they dive with them and I think it's pretty dangerous but it's interesting for some people. Oh, the other thing that's really interesting diving in South Africa, also dangerous, is diving for treasure because of the ancient shipping route from Europe right past the Cape Point, the southern most shipping route in the world. There's a lot of ships that sank because of the terrible weather in centuries past, over the last, I guess, five hundred years ships have sunk around the tip of Africa and people, divers come there to dive and find out if they can get some, if they can get rich basically diving for treasure and you get a lot of historical excavation as well. It's pretty dangerous too because there are two converging sea...
 
我想是有點(diǎn)可怕。南非是大白鯊的其中一個(gè)繁殖地，另一個(gè)繁殖地應(yīng)該是在澳大利亞，人們?nèi)ツ抢餄撊胍粋€(gè)大鐵籠子，觀賞大白鯊，他們和鯊魚(yú)一起潛水，我想那非常危險(xiǎn)，不過(guò)對(duì)有些人來(lái)說(shuō)很有意思。南非另外一種非常有意思的潛水也很危險(xiǎn)，就是潛水尋寶，因?yàn)楣糯鷱臍W洲出發(fā)的航線要經(jīng)過(guò)好望角，那里是世界上航線的最南端。過(guò)去幾個(gè)世紀(jì)以來(lái)，我想大概是過(guò)去500多年來(lái)，有很多船只因?yàn)閻毫拥奶鞖庠诜侵薜哪隙顺翛](méi)，潛水者會(huì)去那里潛水，尋找寶藏，希望能變得富有，那里也有很多考古挖掘工作。其實(shí)那非常危險(xiǎn)，因?yàn)槟鞘莾蓚€(gè)海洋匯集……
 
A: Currents.
 
水流。
 
B: Currents that meet and the one is warm and the one is cold so you have a really interesting combination of natural weather patterns at the same place so I guess a lot of ships sank because of all the storms in that area.
 
那是水流匯合的地方，其中一股水流是溫暖的，另一股是寒冷的，兩種氣候模式在同一個(gè)地方結(jié)合在一起，所以我認(rèn)為那個(gè)地區(qū)的風(fēng)暴是造成大量船只沉沒(méi)的原因。
 
A: Wow, so treasure diving or wreck diving sounds more fun than shark diving.

B: I think so too but it depends on your interest I guess.
