心濤：洋洋，快比賽了，你的鋼琴練得怎么樣了?

洋洋：不怎么樣。

心濤：聽(tīng)你的口氣好像很無(wú)所謂的樣子。

洋洋：我已經(jīng)盡力了。

心濤：這可不是我認(rèn)識(shí)的洋洋，你可是個(gè)很要強(qiáng)的人呀。

洋洋：彈鋼琴本來(lái)就不是我的愛(ài)好，彈不好拿不到名次也情有可原。

心濤：你怎么能給自己找這樣沒(méi)有說(shuō)服力的理由。你可學(xué)了十多年的鋼琴了。

洋洋：如果不是我媽媽非要我學(xué)鋼琴，我也不用十幾年每天都坐在那兒枯燥地練習(xí)。我特別羨慕別的同學(xué)，放學(xué)后就可以玩。

心濤：你媽媽了解你，她發(fā)現(xiàn)了你的音樂(lè)天賦，不想你這塊好材料被埋沒(méi)了。

洋洋：可是我喜歡自由自在，不想被束縛。

心濤：其實(shí)練琴和自由并不矛盾。如果你用心彈好鋼琴，一個(gè)小時(shí)的練習(xí)就能達(dá)到兩個(gè)小時(shí)的效果，那你練完琴不也可以和同學(xué)們玩嗎?

洋洋： 哎!你說(shuō)的話和我媽說(shuō)的一模一樣!

XT: Yang Yang, the [piano] competition is just around the corner, how's your piano practice coming along?

YY: Nothing great.

XT: From the tone of your voice, you sound very indifferent.

YY: I've already done everything I can.

XT: This is definitely not the Yang Yang I know. You're one who is very eager to excel.

YY: Playing the piano has never been my hobby so it's excusable if I don't perform well and fail to attain any position.

XT: How can you give yourself with such a lousy excuse? After all, you have been learning the piano for more than ten years now.

YY: If it wasn't because my mother insisted that I learn to play the piano, I wouldn't be sitting there everyday practicing piano for more than ten years; it's boring. I'm really envious of my other schoolmates. After school, they can go right off and have fun.

XT: Your mom understands you. She found out that you're musically gifted and didn't want your talent to be overlooked.

YY: But I like to be carefree, I don't want to be restricted.

XT: Actually, practicing piano does not conflict with your freedom. If you put effort into your piano practice, two hours of result can be attained with just one hour of practice. After your practice is over, you can still go have fun with your friends, right?

YY: Sigh, you sound exactly just like my mom!
