Jerry: Is the Travels of Marco Polo the right one?

《馬可•波羅游記》可以嗎?

Tom: Of course, Marco Polo probably opened China’s Gate to the outside world, and made westerners interested to China.

當(dāng)然可以了，馬可•波羅從一定程度上打開了中國的國門，讓西方人對中國產(chǎn)生極大興趣。

Jerry: Many Chinese masterworks have been translated into many languages. "Journey to the West" has also been reproduced as TV plays in US.

很多中國名著都被翻譯成多國語言，《西游記》在美國還被翻拍了電視劇。

Tom: While, Chinese literature has also been influenced by the foreign literature.

當(dāng)然中國文學(xué)也受外國文學(xué)的影響。

Jerry: Buddhism influenced it a lot. Many Buddhist scriptures are written in Sanskrit, and they are very artistic.

佛教的影響比較大，很多佛經(jīng)都是梵文的，而且很多佛學(xué)經(jīng)典本身就帶有濃厚的文學(xué)色彩。

Tom: Yes, there were a lot of translators in late Qing dynasty. Do you know the most famous one, Lin Shu?

是啊，晚清期間也涌現(xiàn)了很多翻譯家，最出名的林紓，你知道吧?

Jerry: Of course I know, he is famous as the King of Translation.

當(dāng)然知道了，他可是譯界之王啊!
