1. snoop around: 巡視，也可以用sneak and snoop around來表示“四處窺探”。

2. Ferdinand the bull: 《公牛費迪南德》，一部美國動畫片。

3. gaudy: 艷俗的，花哨的, cheaply showy in a tasteless way; flashy.

例如：He dislikes gaudy decorations.（他不喜歡俗麗的裝飾。）

4. in my color wheel：不是我喜歡的顏色，color wheel意思是“色盤”，女生平時化妝用的多色眼影盤等色盤就可以用這個詞表示。

5. flip burgers：翻轉(zhuǎn)漢堡包，在這里指從事一些次要的工作。

6. get to the bottom of this：揭開真相。例如：The police is eager to get to the bottom of this mystery.（警方急切地想弄清這一神秘事件的真相。）

7. goof on the internet：上網(wǎng)打發(fā)時間，goof指的是把時間浪費在無聊的事情上，常用搭配為goof around或者goof off。

9. study hall：自修課，自修室。

10.out of wedlock：婚外，未婚。get a girl pregnant out of wedlock就是說“讓哪個女孩兒未婚先孕”。 wedlock指結(jié)婚生活，婚姻。

例如：As the married couple can't have children, they have adopted a child born out of wedlock.（由于這對已婚夫婦無法生育，他們領(lǐng)養(yǎng)了一個私生子。）

11.She means it: 她說到做到。

12.78's gonna be a parking lot：78號公路就要變成停車場了，意思是“78號公路塞車嚴重”。
