Guardian On The Road 02

I reached around the back seat and grabbed onto a large flashlight that was on the floorboard. As this figure walked around to my mom’s side of the car I held it firmly in my hand. The figure was a woman. Tall, slender and quite docile it seemed. I, however would not be fooled by this act. I just knew she was up to something. She started to speak to my mom and to my surprise she spoke German! My mother is from Germany and most of my older siblings speak very fluent German. I could not understand a word they were saying. Yet I still held the flashlight tight! Then my mother rolled the window up a ways and asked me if I would mind giving this woman a ride home. Her ride had apparently not shown and she would be stuck out here if we didn't. I asked my mom why this lady couldn't call someone else. My mom told me that this woman had just moved here from Germany and they had not yet had their phone turned on. I felt this to be very strange and said that I really didn't like the idea of giving her a ride. Mom patted me on the shoulder and said it would be all right. I insisted that I sit in the backseat then, that way I figured that if she pulled something funny I would be able to whack her on the head and take care of any problems. Mom said that would be fine.

我伸手到后排座位后的車地板上抓起一個(gè)大手電筒。那人繞到媽媽的座椅旁，我則緊握著那個(gè)電筒。是個(gè)女人，高挑、瘦弱，看起來(lái)很溫和。但我是不會(huì)被她蒙蔽的，我知道她有所企圖。她開(kāi)始和媽媽說(shuō)話，讓我驚訝的是她說(shuō)的居然是德語(yǔ)。我媽媽是德國(guó)人，我好幾個(gè)哥哥姐姐都會(huì)講一口流利的德語(yǔ)。他們說(shuō)的話我一句也聽(tīng)不懂，但我還是緊握著電筒!隨后，媽媽把車窗搖起一點(diǎn)，問(wèn)我介不介意載這個(gè)女人回家。送她回家的車沒(méi)來(lái)，要是我們不載她的話，她就得一直待在這了。我問(wèn)媽媽她為什么不給其他人打電話。媽媽告訴我她剛從德國(guó)搬來(lái)，還沒(méi)有開(kāi)通電話。我還是覺(jué)得有點(diǎn)奇怪，便回答說(shuō)不愿意載她。媽媽拍拍我的肩，說(shuō)不會(huì)有什么問(wèn)題。我堅(jiān)持要坐在后排，這樣如果她有什么不軌行為，我也可以從后面打她的腦袋，解決麻煩。媽媽同意了我的提議。
