Lesson 2. 純純的愛(ài)
bills：賬單
Women really care if their man can pay the bills and take care of their lives.
女人很在意他們的男人是否會(huì)幫他們付賬單，并且照顧他們的生活。
Bill 是人名，中文翻成比爾，小寫就成了賬單。因?yàn)橘~單永遠(yuǎn)是一張接一張來(lái)，所以bill經(jīng)常是復(fù)數(shù)，比如說(shuō)credit card bills（信用卡賬單）、phone bills（電話賬單）、gas bills（煤氣費(fèi)）等等。
blonde 金色，blondy/blondie金發(fā)女孩
She dyed her hair blonde to look more American.
為了看起來(lái)更像美國(guó)人，她把頭發(fā)染成金色。
Look at that blondie at 6 o’clock,she’s fine!!
看一下六點(diǎn)鐘方向那個(gè)金發(fā)女孩，她很正！
hots 哈，仰慕，喜歡
You can tell by the way she is talking to him that she has the hots for him.
從她和他說(shuō)話的樣子，你可以看出她很“哈”他。
hot本來(lái)是形容詞，最常用來(lái)表示很熟，引申成形容女孩很辣。這里是把它當(dāng)成名詞使用，是一種非正式的說(shuō)法，hots 變成仰慕、喜歡，就是很“哈”別人的意思。Hots和中文的“哈”發(fā)音超像，這樣記就對(duì)了！
crush 壓碎、心動(dòng)
He crushed my heart when he told me he had fell in love with another girl.
當(dāng)他告訴我他愛(ài)上另一個(gè)女孩時(shí)，我的心碎了。
I had a crush on her the very first time I laid my eyes on her.
第一次看見(jiàn)她，我就對(duì)她怦然心動(dòng)。
crush是壓碎、碾碎的意思，通常作動(dòng)詞用。不過(guò)英文的俚語(yǔ)形容對(duì)一個(gè)人初見(jiàn)時(shí)就心動(dòng)也用crush，這里就當(dāng)名詞用。特別用來(lái)表示初見(jiàn)面就很喜歡的意思。
jock 運(yùn)動(dòng)員、喜歡
He was the biggest jock in high school since he played all kinds of sports.
從他開(kāi)始玩各種運(yùn)動(dòng)起，他就是高中里最重要的運(yùn)動(dòng)員。
Dude, this girl is jocking me,she keeps on looking at me from across the room.
同學(xué)，那個(gè)女孩很喜歡我，她一直在房間另一頭看著我。
jock 是賽馬的騎師，也泛指運(yùn)動(dòng)員。非正式的表示喜歡、迷戀的樣子，一定要把jock當(dāng)動(dòng)詞使用，不能說(shuō)She has jocks for me,一定要說(shuō)She is jocking me.當(dāng)然，這不能用在正式的文章里！
go for (girl/it)追求、拼一下、放手一搏
I bet she likes you,why don’t you go for her?
我想她喜歡你，你干嘛不追她？
Nowdays,when there is a job opening you have to go for it.
現(xiàn)在只要有工作的缺，你就必須要到手。
sketchy/shady 有心機(jī)的、陰暗的
I don’t like his personality because he’s always so sketchy with things.
我不喜歡他的個(gè)性。他對(duì)事情總是很有心機(jī)。
The politician committed some shady acts by receiving bribes.
這個(gè)警察受賄，做一些無(wú)恥的勾當(dāng)。
dork 不入流的家伙、豬頭
I can’t believe she’s going out with that dork.
我不敢相信她和那個(gè)不入流的家伙約會(huì)。
coyote ugly極丑
Have you seen the new race car?It’s coyote ugly!!
你看過(guò)那輛新跑車嗎？丑得不象話！
coyote 是土狼的意思，通常我們說(shuō)東西或人很丑，可以直接說(shuō)ugly，但是要加強(qiáng)那種丑的程度無(wú)以倫比，就把很丑的動(dòng)物——土狼放在ugly 前面，來(lái)形容人或物超級(jí)夠丑。
back out 退出、拉出
Hey!Back your car out of the garage.
嗨！把你的車開(kāi)出倉(cāng)庫(kù)。
I backed out of the plan because I didn’t want to go steal money with them.
我要退出這個(gè)計(jì)劃，因?yàn)槲也幌牒退麄円黄鹜靛X。
wasted 身體不適、喝酒
After 20 shots of Vodka,I was totally wasted.
在喝了20杯伏特加后，我完全醉了。
