The Students' Union has recently set up an English club, to improve the students' English proficiency and to prepare them for the National English Speaking Contest.
During the summer, there will be a number of English lectures, and Professor John Gordon, a world famous English expert, has agreed to give us training. Anyone at the university may join the club by filling in an application form and providing two passport-size photos by the end of the month.
The founding conference will be held in the Student Recreation Center at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 20XX.

學(xué)生會(huì)最近剛成立了一個(gè)英語(yǔ)俱樂(lè)部，以提高同學(xué)們的英語(yǔ)水平，并為同學(xué)們參加全國(guó)英語(yǔ)演講比賽做準(zhǔn)備。

1 To improve students' ability to speak English and enrich their after-class activities, there is going to be formed an English club and the first event will be a school-wide English speaking contest to be held next Saturday (February 10) in the Students' Auditorium.
為了提高同學(xué)們的英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)能力并豐富大家的課外活動(dòng)，將成立一個(gè)英語(yǔ)俱樂(lè)部。第一次活動(dòng)將是全校英語(yǔ)演講比賽，將于下周六(2月10日)在學(xué)生大禮堂舉行。
2 Every week we will hold special activities at which there will be present English experts from this and other universities.
每周我們都會(huì)舉辦特別的活動(dòng)，本校和其他大學(xué)的英語(yǔ)專家都會(huì)到場(chǎng)。
3 Please try to be there at the first meeting as we have arranged for special guests to be there.
第一次開(kāi)會(huì)時(shí)請(qǐng)盡量參加，因?yàn)槲覀儼才帕颂貏e來(lái)賓到場(chǎng)。
