Do you like chocolate? If you like it, you must know DOVE--the most famous chocolate brand. But do you know what the meaning of DOVE is?

Today I want to share a love story about it.

Dove chocolate is born because of love.

Spring of 1919, Princess Charlotte of Luxembourg royal family welcomed the throne at the same time she married Prince Felix of Bourbon descendants of the family.

As a royal cook--Leon was busy with the things in kitchen, all day he was cleaning up dishes and plates, so he had split a lot of wounds in hands, when he was cleaning wounds with a salt water, a girl came to him and said, “This must hurt you?” She was the person who impacted Leon’s whole life--Princess Bazaar.

And this was the first time they met each other. From then on, Leon had his first friend who was really cared about him. Since Princess BAZAAR was only a distant relative of Prince Fliex, and she has a low status in the kingdom, so she can not taste the rare food--ice cream no matter how deep she want to.

When Leon knew her dream, he quietly slipped into the kitchen at night, and made ice cream for BAZAAR. They were always talking about past things while they were tasting the ice cream. BAZAAR taught Leon English as well.

First love’s sweet lingering in the minds of them. However, Because the special status and circumstances, a clear distinction line existed between the noble and the humble in that conservative area, so none of them spoke out their true feeling, and buried their love in heart.

In the early 20s, in order to strengthen the state of Luxembourg, Luxembourg and Belgium made an agreement about consolidating the relationship between the two countries, and the royal marriage seemed to be the best choice, the bad thing was that the person who was chosen to be married was Princess Bazzar.

Since Leon hasn’t seen Bazzar for a few days, he was really worried about her, finally after a month Bazzar appeared in the dinner. But she looked totally tied. Leon wrote “D\O\V\E” to stand for “Do you love me” in Bazzar’s ice cream by hot chocolate. He believed that she must understand his heart. However Bazzar was just staring at it until it melted.

A few days later, Bazzar married with a prince. A year later Leon can’t stand the pain of missing Bazzar so he left the emperor and settled in a famous restaurant and married the daughter of the restaurant’s owner.

But he was never happy again. After his wife found his secret she was so angry that she left her family sadly. Then Leon doing his candy business with his son singe.

In 1946 when Leon saw his son running for a ice-cream car, he remembered of Bazzar and how long he hadn’t made ice-cream. So he decided to keep making ice-cream and which was Bazzar’s dream.

After months researching, a type of delicious ice-cream covered with chocolate was invented, and each of them had the same name--DOVE.

At the same time, Leon received a letter from Luxembourg, in which he knew that Princess Bazzar had looked for him all around and hoped him to visit her. But because of the world war two, when the letter came to Leon, it’s late for one year and three days.

Leon did what he could to find Bazzar, but at that time they were very old. Bazzar began to remember the time when they were in Luxembourg, she loved Leon so much that she did everything she could to stop the marriage, but she had to be responsible for her family. So she had to give up, but there was only one condition that she wanted to have a dinner before leaving to have a chance to meet Leon, she ate the chocolate ice cream but didn’t find the melted words.

Leon thought if the chocolate words didn’t melt they may had a different ending.so he made his decision to made a kind of solid chocolate so that it could be kept for a longer time. And that is DOVE chocolate, which is filled up with love from Leon and Bazzar.

Nowadays Dove has all kinds of tastes, and every type of loves could be showed in it. Lovers send DOVE, which means a love question: DO YOU LOVE ME? So, if you love a boy or a girl, let him or her know you heart and love each other forever, and never give up.

初戀如冰淇淋般甜美

1919年的春天，盧森堡王室的夏洛特公主繼承了王位，同時(shí)她又嫁給了波旁家庭的后裔費(fèi)利克斯王子。雙喜臨門，整個(gè)盧森堡王室熱鬧非凡。為了迎接那些貴客，御廚們更是通宵達(dá)旦地忙碌著。18歲的男孩萊昂已經(jīng)在這個(gè)廚房工作了4個(gè)年頭。14歲那年，他跟著做廚師的親戚從希臘輾轉(zhuǎn)來到盧森堡，后來進(jìn)了王宮。

這幾天萊昂忙壞了，他的雙手在水里泡得太久，幾乎每根手指都裂開了口子。好不容易有點(diǎn)空閑，萊昂坐在門口用鹽水擦洗傷口。“這樣太不衛(wèi)生了，傷口容易發(fā)炎。”一個(gè)細(xì)弱的聲音輕輕地飄進(jìn)了萊昂的耳朵，他抬頭看到，陽光下站著一個(gè)女孩。女孩大方地坐在了他的身邊，說：“要用藥水擦洗，這樣一定很疼吧?”她盯著萊昂的手指，心疼地微微皺起了眉頭。就在萊昂不知道如何回答時(shí)，一個(gè)女傭跑進(jìn)來說：“芭莎公主，快走，夫人在找你!”女孩回頭沖萊昂笑了一下，急忙跟著女傭跑了出去。原來她是公主!在王宮中，除了帶他進(jìn)來的親戚，從來沒有人關(guān)心過他，更何況是公主。她那幾句簡短的問候，讓他產(chǎn)生了溫暖的錯(cuò)覺。 　　此后，萊昂得知，15歲的芭莎是波旁家族的遠(yuǎn)親。因?yàn)闊o依無靠，所以被費(fèi)利克斯王子帶了過來。

有一次，萊昂正在忙著手里的活計(jì)，轉(zhuǎn)頭時(shí)突然發(fā)現(xiàn)廚房門口有一個(gè)腦袋探來探去。當(dāng)對方與萊昂的目光對上時(shí)，高興地沖他招了招手。那正是芭莎公主。她塞給萊昂一個(gè)布包，便慌慌張張地走了。萊昂打開布包，里面竟然有一只療傷的藥膏。那個(gè)晚上，萊昂躺在床上，腦海中總是浮現(xiàn)出芭莎因?yàn)樾奶鄱櫭嫉臉幼樱嗌平馊艘獾墓媚锇?，他的心里既溫暖又甜蜜?/p>

幾天后，一位伯爵過生日，要在宮中舉辦一個(gè)小型宴會(huì)。宴會(huì)上的蛋卷冰激凌是當(dāng)時(shí)剛剛流行的，它成了年輕的公主、王子們最喜歡的甜點(diǎn)。其實(shí)芭莎也很喜歡冰激凌，但這種還是稀罕物的美食是輪不上她的。萊昂開始設(shè)法為她做冰激凌。

那天晚上，萊昂悄悄地潛入廚房。過了一會(huì)兒，一個(gè)橙子味的冰激凌就被他做好了。芭莎品嘗著香甜爽滑的冰激凌，神情陶醉，仿佛陷入了某種美好的回憶。隨后，她輕聲告訴萊昂，她的母親是個(gè)富有想象力的女人，在世時(shí)喜歡給她調(diào)制各種口味的冰激凌。萊昂恍然大悟，原來冰激凌里有芭莎對母親的回憶。此外，由于母親是英國人，芭莎也精通英文，她經(jīng)常教萊昂簡單的英語，似乎這樣也能讓她重溫對母親的回憶。

從此以后，萊昂常常為芭莎調(diào)制各種口味的冰激凌。很多個(gè)繁星點(diǎn)點(diǎn)的夜晚，他們品嘗著美味的冰激凌，也讓愛情的甜蜜縈繞在心頭。不過，由于身份和處境的差異，他們誰都沒有說出心里的愛意，只是默默地將這份感情埋在心底。

悲傷的熱克力難留愛情

有一回，芭莎突發(fā)奇想地說：“萊昂，冰激凌里加上巧克力會(huì)不會(huì)更好吃?”芭莎的愿望就是萊昂的動(dòng)力，他又有了新的目標(biāo)：巧克力冰激凌。如何讓巧克力融入冰激凌并有最佳的口感，讓他很費(fèi)神。就在他苦苦琢磨時(shí)，一個(gè)消息像陰風(fēng)一樣吹進(jìn)了盧森堡的王宮。

20世紀(jì)初，小小的盧森堡在整個(gè)歐洲的地位很低，不時(shí)有人提出廢除王室特權(quán)。為了找到一個(gè)靠山和同盟國，1921年，盧森堡和鄰國比利時(shí)確立了經(jīng)濟(jì)同盟關(guān)系。為鞏固兩國之間的關(guān)系，王室聯(lián)姻成了最好的辦法，而被選中的人就是芭莎公主。這個(gè)新聞在御廚房里炸開了鍋，正在埋頭調(diào)制巧克力冰激淋的萊昂感到自己的心猛烈地抽搐著。

一連3天，芭莎公主都沒有出現(xiàn)在餐桌旁。心急如焚的萊昂盼著周三的晚上能快些到來，因?yàn)槟鞘撬麄兗s定一起調(diào)制巧克力冰激凌的日子。可是那天晚上，芭莎失約了，直到萊昂盤中的冰激凌完全化掉，她也沒有出現(xiàn)。萊昂感到有種撕心裂肺的疼痛。

芭莎出現(xiàn)在萊昂的視線里已經(jīng)是在一個(gè)月后，那天下午，他意外地在餐桌前看到了芭莎。她瘦了一圈，整個(gè)人看上去憔悴了許多。只是在看到萊昂的那一瞬間，她的眼中迸發(fā)出兩道強(qiáng)烈的亮光，那光像劍一樣刺痛了萊昂的心。他很想沖過去，抓住芭莎的手質(zhì)問她，希望她告訴自己一切都是假的，她不會(huì)嫁人，因?yàn)樗嫘膼鄣娜耸撬？伤瞧腿?，她是高貴的公主，萊昂無法開口確認(rèn)她的愛情。

這天，萊昂給公主和王子們準(zhǔn)備的甜點(diǎn)依然是冰激凌，由于真正的巧克力冰激凌還沒有調(diào)制成功，他急中生智，在芭莎的那份冰激凌上直接用熱巧克力寫了幾個(gè)英文字母“DOVE” ，正是“DO YOU LOVE ME”的縮寫。他相信如果芭莎心有靈犀，一定會(huì)讀懂他的心聲。萊昂緊張地盯著芭莎，看著那份寫著字母的冰激凌轉(zhuǎn)到了她的面前，可是直到上面的熱巧克力融化，芭莎也沒有仔細(xì)看那幾個(gè)字母，她只是發(fā)了很長時(shí)間的呆，然后含淚吃下他為她做的最后一份冰激凌。

幾天之后，芭莎出嫁了。萊昂坐在高高的山坡上，看著載著芭莎的車駛向遠(yuǎn)方。他手里的冰激凌融化了，心愛的姑娘也遠(yuǎn)去了，他流下了傷心的眼淚。

芭莎出嫁的第二年，萊昂離開了盧森堡，來到美國，在一家高級餐廳里找到了工作。他踏實(shí)肯干、虛心老實(shí)，老板很賞識他，便將女兒許配給他。幾年后，萊昂隨老板一家遷往芝加哥。在芝加哥，萊昂又成了一名糖果商。由于萊昂始終無法忘記芭莎，妻子只好與他離了婚。

此后萊昂一直獨(dú)自帶著兒子，經(jīng)營著他的糖果店。1946年的一天，萊昂看到兒子在追一輛販賣冰激凌的車，當(dāng)他攔下兒子后，兒子失望地告訴他，那輛車上有好吃的巧克力冰激凌。萊昂緊閉的心門頓時(shí)被撞開了。芭莎離開之后，他沒有做過一次冰激凌。這次萊昂決定繼續(xù)過去沒有為芭莎完成的工作。

經(jīng)過幾個(gè)月的精心研制，一款富含奶油、同時(shí)被香醇的巧克力包裹的冰激凌問世了，上面刻著四個(gè)字母。兒子天真的問萊昂，冰激凌上“DOVE”這幾個(gè)字母是什么意思。萊昂輕輕地說：這是冰激凌的名字。

就在此時(shí)，萊昂意外地收到了一封來自盧森堡的信件，萊昂從信中得知，芭莎公主曾派人回國四處打聽他的消息，希望他能夠去探望她，卻被告知他去了美國。芭莎到底怎么樣了?她還好嗎?萊昂的心仿佛又回到了當(dāng)年，依然那么急迫而熱切。

歷經(jīng)千辛萬苦，萊昂終于來到了比利時(shí)。芭莎并不在王宮，而是住在郊外一處破敗的別墅里。迎接他的傭人神色悲戚，萊昂有了一種不祥的預(yù)感。芭莎老了，她虛弱地躺在床上，曾經(jīng)如清波蕩漾的眼睛變得灰蒙蒙的。萊昂撲在她的床邊，眼淚無法自抑地滴落在她蒼白的手背上。芭莎伸出手來輕輕地?fù)崦R昂的頭發(fā)，用近乎微弱到聽不清的聲音叫著萊昂的名字。隨后，她艱難地講述了整個(gè)故事。

原來當(dāng)年在盧森堡時(shí)，芭莎也深深地愛著萊昂，曾以絕食拒絕聯(lián)姻，但是被送到宮外嚴(yán)密看守了一個(gè)月后，她深知自己不可能逃脫聯(lián)姻的命運(yùn)，何況萊昂從未說過愛她，更沒有任何承諾。在那個(gè)年代，一個(gè)女子要同整個(gè)家庭決裂是要付出沉重代價(jià)的，何況她也無處可去。她最終只能向命運(yùn)妥協(xié)，但希望離開盧森堡前能回王宮喝一次下午茶，因?yàn)樗朐谀抢锱c萊昂作最后的告別。她吃到了他送給她的巧克力冰激凌，卻沒有看到那些融化的字母。

聽到這里，萊昂泣不成聲，過去的誤解終于有了答案。但一切都晚了。三天之后，芭莎離開了人世。萊昂聽傭人說，自從芭莎嫁過來之后，終日郁郁寡歡，導(dǎo)致疾病纏身。她曾派人回去找過萊昂，得知他離開盧森堡并已經(jīng)在美國結(jié)婚后，就一病不起。

聽到這里，萊昂泣不成聲，如果當(dāng)年那冰激凌上的熱巧克力沒有化掉，如果芭莎明白他的心思，她會(huì)改變主意與他私奔嗎?他覺得一定會(huì)的。他開始悔恨自己的愚蠢和疏忽，為什么要在冰激凌上面用熱巧克力寫字。如果那巧克力是固體的，那些字就不會(huì)融化了，他就不會(huì)失去最后的機(jī)會(huì)。萊昂決定制造一種固體的巧克力，使其可以保存更久。

經(jīng)過精心調(diào)制，香醇獨(dú)特的德芙巧克力終于制成了，“DOVE”這四個(gè)字母被牢牢地刻在了每一塊巧克力上，萊昂以此來紀(jì)念他和芭莎那錯(cuò)過的愛情，它雖然苦澀而甜蜜，悲傷而動(dòng)人，如同德芙的味道。
