赫立克（Robert Herrick，1591-1674），英國十七世紀一位有影響的詩人。他推崇本·瓊生，詩歌受到古典詩人的影響。1648年他出版了唯一的詩集《金蘋果園》，詩集后附有一批宗教詩歌《圣詩》，共有400多首。這些詩作大多活潑迷人，有著精美的藝術(shù)性和裝飾風格。詩歌主題豐富，內(nèi)容多樣，如描寫鄉(xiāng)村節(jié)日，慶賀豐收，表達對美好快樂的生活的向往等等。《給少女們的忠告》是他廣為流傳的一首詩，講青春易逝，時光難再，應及時享受人生。

Old time is still a-flying,

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,

向上攀登得越高，

The higher he's a-getting,

路程的終點就會越臨近，

The sooner will his race be run,

剩余的時光也越少。

And nearer he's to setting.

青春的年華是最為美好的，

That age is best which is the first,

血氣方剛，多熱情；

When youth and blood are warmer;

過了青年，那越來越不妙的

But being spent, the worse, and worst

年月會陸續(xù)來臨。

Times still succeed the former.

那么，別怕羞，抓住機緣，

Then be not coy , but use your time,

你們該及時結(jié)婚；

And while ye may, go marry;

你一旦錯過了少年，

For having lost but once your prime ,

會成千古恨。

You may forever tarry .
