徐燦，字湘蘋，又字明霞、明深，江蘇吳縣（今蘇州市吳中區(qū)、相城區(qū)）人。陳之遴繼配。幼穎悟，通書史。陳之遴兩次流徙，均曾隨行?？滴跏辏?671），奉旨?xì)w之遴之骨。晚年學(xué)佛，更號(hào)紫?。早年雅好吟詠，尤喜為詞。被詞人陳維崧譽(yù)為南宋后閨秀第一。有《拙政園詩馀》《拙政園詩集》。

已是華燈照綺筵，

漸添奇巧斗新懸。

明月似嫌芳景速，

不輕圓。

佳節(jié)最憐前一日，

舊歡長(zhǎng)算幾何年。

可惜金吾猶禁夜，

促游鞭。

They’ve used decorated lanterns to light up damask seats;

Now wondrous touches are added, new hangings rival one another.

The bright moon seems averse to the lovely sights’ haste,

And doesn’t readily round.

I love best the day before a festival,

Often reckoning how long past happiness did last.

Too bad the capital guards still enforce curfew,

Urging back the roving whips.
