《聚蚊謠》是唐代文學(xué)家劉禹錫創(chuàng)作的一首政治諷刺詩(shī)。此詩(shī)采用比喻的手法,把那些陰險(xiǎn)毒辣的官僚比作在昏暗中喧囂、害人的蚊子,生動(dòng)形象而又入木三分地描寫(xiě)了他們的丑態(tài),并且堅(jiān)信他們總有一天會(huì)被消滅,從而表現(xiàn)了詩(shī)人在政治斗爭(zhēng)中的錚錚硬骨,以及對(duì)腐朽官僚的鄙視憎恨。全詩(shī)十四句,前十二句四句一轉(zhuǎn)韻,平仄相間,具有跳躍性的變化。整篇語(yǔ)言較為質(zhì)樸,但其中有些語(yǔ)句又富有文彩,在質(zhì)樸中含著清麗,體現(xiàn)了劉詩(shī)的獨(dú)特風(fēng)格。

Hot summer nights
And doors are opened:
Mosquitoes swarm in
In the darkness,
Buzzing, loud.
Buzz, buzz, buzz,
Driving everyone wild,
Swatting
Like thunder
Hammering on the South Hills.
Buzz, buzz, buzz,
Happy in the darkness.
Stupidity can’t understand,
Wisdom grows confused:
Who can see in the dark?
The moon rises,
Dew falls,
And these imperious gnats,
Invisible, sharp-toothed,
Fly right in your face.
I may be a man,
Seven feet tall,
And you only
Tiny bugs,
But you outnumber me,
And I am sadly wounded.
Yet all things have their time.
