dawn mists, high up, but one can dine on them. 1

why is my way such a tangle of woes?
Nothing on the stove, the well at dawn frozen,
no decent clothing, bed at night so cold;
but an empty moneybag—that shame I dread,
so I cling to this lone copper coin.
