Lily：

The Summer Palace is one of the most famous Imperial Gardens. During various periods of war, it suffered extensive damage.

頤和園是中國(guó)最著名的皇家園林之一。經(jīng)過(guò)戰(zhàn)亂，遭到過(guò)嚴(yán)重的破壞。

Tom：

It's a surprise that the Summer Palace is so well-preserved.

 

頤和園能保存得這么完好，完全出乎我的意料。

Lily：

It was rebuilt one hundred years ago and has been through many processes of restoration.

一百多年以前曾經(jīng)重建過(guò)一次，后來(lái)又進(jìn)行過(guò)多次修繕，才有現(xiàn)在的面貌。

Tom：

Is that hill in the distance a part of the Summer Palace?

遠(yuǎn)處那座山也是頤和園的嗎?

Lily：

No, that hill is called Yuquan Hill and isn't a part of the Summer Palace. The only hill that is a part of the Summer Palace is Wanshou Hill.

遠(yuǎn)處的那座山叫玉泉山，不在頤和園里邊，在頤和園里只有一座山，就是萬(wàn)壽山。

Tom：

What an ingenious layout! It completely incorporates its natural surroundings.
