needn't : 不必

with holes in it 作定語(yǔ)

Jane put a piece of paper with her name and address on it into a bottle.(lesson 22)

bookstore書店 drugstore藥店, 名詞修飾名詞, 一般用單數(shù)

must表示必須 / mustn't不能、不準(zhǔn)

need的否定形式 : needn't 不必/ don't need 不需要

remark = say

regretted doing sth后悔已經(jīng)做

needn't have done原本不必做, 但是做了, 強(qiáng)調(diào)過去的動(dòng)作不必做

you needn't have bought it你原本不必買的

remind sb of sth

needn't do : 現(xiàn)在的動(dòng)作也不必做 : you needn’t have come./ you needn’t come.

never...too...＝not...too...無(wú)論...也不為過

A man can never have too many ties.再多的領(lǐng)帶對(duì)一個(gè)男人來(lái)說(shuō)也不為過

I can never thank you too much : 感激不盡

drinking water can never be too clean飲用水越干凈越好

a wife can never complain too much妻子怎么羅嗦也不為過

need : 需要

needn't : 非實(shí)義動(dòng)詞(助動(dòng)詞, 系動(dòng)詞, 情態(tài)動(dòng)詞), 屬情態(tài)動(dòng)詞, 無(wú)時(shí)態(tài)變化, 也沒有人稱

don't need : 實(shí)義動(dòng)詞有任意一種時(shí)態(tài), 有人稱變化

need I...?(情態(tài)) / do I need...? 實(shí)義動(dòng)詞

情態(tài)動(dòng)詞后面一定要加動(dòng)詞原形

在實(shí)義動(dòng)詞后面再加一個(gè)實(shí)義動(dòng)詞, 就在后面加to do

need I go out? / do I need to go out? 我需要出去嗎?

情態(tài)動(dòng)詞后面不能直接用名詞做賓語(yǔ)

實(shí)義動(dòng)詞后面可以直接加名詞, 故need 后面如是名詞, 則這個(gè)need 為實(shí)義動(dòng)詞

we don't need things(名詞)...

you don't need to be

1、情態(tài)動(dòng)詞, 無(wú)時(shí)態(tài)和人稱2、情態(tài)動(dòng)詞的疑問句和否定句都直接加not或提前3、情態(tài)動(dòng)詞后面只能加動(dòng)詞原形

needn't have done : 過去不必做, 但是做了

mustn't 不準(zhǔn)

can't : 不可能(沒有這個(gè)能力做)

you don't... : 事實(shí) : you don’t speak English.

仔細(xì)閱讀以下句子 :

I need a new hat. I must buy one. 我需要一頂新帽子. 我必須買一頂.

He needs a haircut. He must have one. 他需要理發(fā). 他一定要理發(fā).

I won't buy that. I don't need it. 我不會(huì)買那個(gè), 我不需要它.

d  Now compare mustn't and needn't in these sentences: 對(duì)比 mustn't和 needn't:

You mustn't make a noise. The children are asleep. 你不應(yīng)吵鬧, 孩子們都睡了.

You needn't drive so quickly; we have plenty of time. 你不必開得那么快, 我們有足夠的時(shí)間.

Or: You don't have to(haven't got to) drive so quickly; we have plenty of time.

You mustn't smoke in a theatre. It is forbidden. 你不應(yīng)該在劇場(chǎng)里抽煙, 這是不允許的.

You needn't come with us if you don't want to. 如果你不想去, 你不必和我們一道去.

Or: You don't have to (haven't got to) come with us if you don't want to.

must可能等于have to 表示必須, 不等于have to時(shí)表示推測(cè)
