A pangolin was set free back to the wild in a nature reserve after being rescued in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local authorities said.

當?shù)卣Q，一只穿山甲在中國西南部云南省獲救后被放歸自然保護區(qū)。

Police in Mengla County in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture rushed to the rescue after receiving a report on May 21 that a pangolin was found in a refrigerator at Guanlei Port, according to the public security bureau of natural resources in the prefecture.

5月21日，西雙版納傣族自治州勐拉縣警方接到報警稱，關(guān)雷港冰箱里發(fā)現(xiàn)穿山甲，立即趕赴現(xiàn)場救援。

The pangolin was found when workers were moving some logs in the refrigerator.

這只穿山甲是在工人們在冰箱里搬運木頭時發(fā)現(xiàn)的。

A physical check showed that the pangolin measures about 55 cm long and weighs 3.8 kg. It did not sustain any injuries.

體檢顯示，這只穿山甲長約55厘米，重3.8公斤。它沒有受到任何傷害。

It was identified as a Malayan pangolin which is under second-class state protection in China and is listed as critically endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species.

經(jīng)鑒定為我國二級國家保護的馬來亞穿山甲，已被列入國際自然保護聯(lián)盟瀕危物種紅色名錄。

The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation dispatched personnel to the county to send food to the pangolin and install a field tracking monitor on it.

中國生物多樣性保護和綠色發(fā)展基金會派出工作人員前往該縣，給穿山甲運送食物，并在它身上安裝一個現(xiàn)場跟蹤監(jiān)視器。
