日本計(jì)劃采用夏令時(shí)來(lái)舉辦奧運(yùn)會(huì)

Japan is considering adopting daylight saving time(DST) next year so that athletes in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games can compete in cooler hours.

日本正考慮明年采用夏令時(shí)，以便2020年?yáng)|京奧運(yùn)會(huì)時(shí)運(yùn)動(dòng)員能夠在較為涼爽的時(shí)段比賽。

The proposal to bring clocks forward by two hours has received major opposition on social media with many worried it would result in longer working hours.

將時(shí)鐘撥快兩小時(shí)的這一提議在社交媒體上引起強(qiáng)烈抗議，許多人擔(dān)心這一提議會(huì)導(dǎo)致工作時(shí)間延長(zhǎng)。

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said such a move would have a "major" impact on people's lives.

日本內(nèi)閣官房長(zhǎng)官菅義偉稱，此舉將對(duì)國(guó)民生活產(chǎn)生“重大”影響。

"We plan broad measures such as earlier start times, more greenery and heat-inhibiting pavements," he said.

菅義偉表示：“我們計(jì)劃采取更廣泛的措施，例如較早的比賽時(shí)間、更多的綠化和防熱路面。”

The 2020 games, which will be held in late July and early August, fall during the country's hottest and most humid months.

2020年奧運(yùn)會(huì)將于該年的七月末、八月初舉行，而那恰恰是日本最熱、最潮濕的月份。

Olympic officials had earlier requested Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to adopt DST so that events like the marathon could be scheduled in the cooler morning hours.

東京奧組委官員此前曾請(qǐng)求日本首相安倍晉三采用夏令時(shí)，這樣就可將馬拉松等項(xiàng)目安排在較為涼爽的早間進(jìn)行。

The government says it is yet to decide on the move but does want to limit the effect of summer heat on the athletes.

日本政府稱尚未決定是否采用夏令時(shí)，但是確實(shí)希望可以降低暑熱對(duì)運(yùn)動(dòng)員的影響。
