Brits sweltering through the UK's longest heat wavesince 1976 have taken to Twitter in a panic as they desperately seek out fans to keep them cool.

The mercury was set to soar to 33 C recently, but those hoping for the relief of some cool air have been left frustrated, with some complaining of entire towns across the country being sold out of fans.
