The inaugural event of Vision China, a series of talks organized by China Daily, was held at the University of International Business and Economics on Monday evening.

US specialist on China Robert Lawrence Kuhn, China Daily writer Andrew Moody and China Global Television Network host Liu Xin shared their thoughts on China's New Era with an audience of more than 500 from home and abroad.

? The rise of China is the single biggest geopolitical change of the 21st century. There is virtually no problem in the world that can be resolved without China.

China’s entering into the New Era proves the validity and rationality of its development path, showing its confidence in its path, theories, institutions and culture. It consolidates reporters’ confidence in telling fantastic Chinese stories based on China’s successful practices.
中國進入新時代充分證明了中國發(fā)展道路的正確性，彰顯了中國的道路自信、理論自信、制度自信、文化自信，也讓她更加堅定了立足中國實踐、講好中國故事的自信與底氣。
The hardest part is to find facts. I ask myself all the time: Am I being fair? Nationalistic? Too ideological?
最難的地方是找尋真相，我總追問自己：我是否公平?是否帶著民族主義情緒?是否過于意識形態(tài)化?
? China has also been a scapegoat for some of the domestic policy failures of western countries. The loss of jobs in the US, for instance, has been squarely blamed on Chinese competition in the mainstream US media. Politicians then put unfair pressure on China in an effort to score domestic political gains, reinforcing the public's skepticism and misunderstanding about China.
中國也是一些西方國家國內政策失敗的替罪羊。比如美國國內的失業(yè)問題被直接歸咎于中國競爭，這影響了公眾看法。政治家們借施壓中國來謀求國內政治得分，也加深了公眾對中國的懷疑和誤解。
? Now that China has defied all kinds of predictions of a regime collapse or an economic hard-landing, western observers and commentators are at a loss for words when trying to explain the China phenomenon.

? Traditionally, people have relied on a few correspondents or experts for information and opinions on China. Increasingly, however, that bottleneck is opening up.

? Our role is not to oversell the Chinese wisdom; our responsibility is to document and explain that journey. Let history be our judges.

Whatever I do, I want to have passion for it.
無論我做什么，我都希望我能夠帶著熱愛去做。
When I write a new book, there is something I want to learn about, and I use that vehicle to learn. So passion about learning is the common denominator.
當我寫作一本書的時候，這其中必有我想要學習的東西。我將寫書當做學習的途徑。所以對學習的熱愛是我對從事工作的共同點。
Actually, I don't like the word "present", because that means you know what you are going to talk about and you put it in front of them, take it or leave it. We choose a topic which we think might be interesting, might be informative to them, and we discuss it. I 'm not worried about what it is going to look like, what is going to be the conclusion, let's have a genuine and high-quality discussion.
實際上，我并不喜歡present這個詞，因為這意味著你知道你要說的內容，你就將這些準備好的內容拿出來，任由對方取舍。而我們是選取有趣、有意義的話題，一起來討論。我并不擔心結果，也不擔心結論，而是希望有一場真正的，高質量的討論。
I think they are already doing the right thing by being in China.

l think the fact that they come here, shows they believe in this place and they want to find out about it. What else can you ask?
