US president Donald Trump said on Tuesday that North Korea would be “met with fire and fury like the world has never seen”, escalating his rhetoric against the nuclear aspirant following fresh reports about its galloping missile programme.

美國總統(tǒng)唐納德•特朗普(Donald Trump)周二表示，朝鮮將“遭遇世界從未見識過的火與怒(fire and fury)”——在有關(guān)朝鮮飛速進展的導(dǎo)彈計劃的新報告出爐后，特朗普針對這個抱有核野心的國家的論調(diào)進一步升級。

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” Mr Trump told reporters, following details that the country has produced a miniaturised nuclear weapon that can be carried on its ballistic missiles. The intelligence reports, carried by The Washington Post, underline the grave threat that the Trump administration has spent the past seven months striving to stem.

“朝鮮最好別再做出任何新的威脅美國的事情，”特朗普向記者表示，此前有詳細消息稱，朝鮮已經(jīng)制造出可以裝載在彈道導(dǎo)彈上的小型化核武器。《華盛頓郵報》(The Washington Post)報道的情報報告，明確顯示了特朗普政府耗費了過去7個月拼命試圖阻止的嚴重威脅。

The US is the only country that has used nuclear weapons in wartime before, when it detonated two nuclear bombs on Japan that it calculated would help bring the second world war to an end in 1945.

美國是唯一在戰(zhàn)爭時期使用過核武器的國家。1945年美國在日本引爆了兩顆核炸彈，當時它認為這有助于結(jié)束二戰(zhàn)。

“The IC [intelligence community] assesses North Korea has produced nuclear weapons for ballistic missile delivery, to include delivery by ICBM-class missiles,” the assessment states.

“美國情報體系(IC)估計，朝鮮已經(jīng)研制出了可搭載在彈道導(dǎo)彈上的核武器，包括可通過洲際彈道導(dǎo)彈(ICBM)級導(dǎo)彈運載，”該評估表示。

The report says the Defense Intelligence Agency, one of the 17 agencies that make up the overall US intelligence community, made the initial assessment. The report also says the US believes North Korea now has up to 60 nuclear weapons.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which heads the US intelligence community, declined to comment and the DIA did not immediately respond to requests.
