霍金：人工智能或使人類滅亡

Prof Stephen Hawking, one of Britain's pre-eminent scientists, has said that efforts to create thinking machines pose a threat to our very existence.

據(jù)英國廣播公司(BBC)報道，英國最優(yōu)秀的科學(xué)家之一史蒂芬·霍金(Stephen Hawking)教授近日表示，致力于會思考型機器的開發(fā)會威脅人類自身的生存。

He told the BBC:"The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race."

他向BBC表示：“人工智能的全盛時代可能導(dǎo)致人類滅亡。”

His warning came in response to a question about a revamp of the technology he uses to communicate, which involves a basic form of AI.

當(dāng)被問及自己用于日常交流的技術(shù)改進(jìn)問題時，他作出如上告誡，該技術(shù)涉及一種基礎(chǔ)人工智能形式。

Prof Hawking says the primitive forms of artificial intelligence developed so far have already proved very useful, but he fears the consequences of creating something that can match or surpass humans.

霍金教授說，事實證明，人工智能從原始狀態(tài)發(fā)展至今已相當(dāng)實用，但他對創(chuàng)造這些與人類旗鼓相當(dāng)甚至更為優(yōu)秀的人工智能所產(chǎn)生的后果感到擔(dān)憂。

"It would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever increasing rate," he said.

他說：“人工智能可自我提升，并不斷加速自我設(shè)計。”

"Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn't compete, and would be superseded."

“而受限于緩慢生物進(jìn)化的人類無法與之抗衡，將被其取代。”

But others are less pessimistic.

但其他專家對此并沒那么悲觀。

"I believe we will remain in charge of the technology for a decently long time and the potential of it to solve many of the world problems will be realised," said Rollo Carpenter, creator of Cleverbot.

Cleverbot的創(chuàng)造者羅洛·卡彭特(Rollo Carpenter)稱，“我相信人類依然會在相當(dāng)長的時間內(nèi)主導(dǎo)科技的發(fā)展，并以此解決很多世界性問題。”
