Rescuers on Tuesday found two remaining Japanese women alive from a diving group that went missing last week and are trying to recover them from a cliff in a small islet off Bali.
They were part of a group of seven Japanese women who didn't return from a diving trip last Friday at Nusa Lembongan. The police rescued the other five women late Monday from Manta Point diving site in Nusa Penida, near Nusa Lembongan.
'The two were found by local fishermen late Monday around one kilometer east of the location where the five people were found,' said Nyoman Suarsika, the chief of the police encompassing the area.
Mr. Suarsika said the two women were spotted on a steep cliff around five meters above the pounding water.
Authorities couldn't rescue the women immediately Monday night because of darkness.
'The location is very challenging and it's not safe to conduct a rescue operation,' Mr. Suarsika said, adding the corals make it difficult for boat to get close to the two survivors.
'We are still assessing if we can pluck them with helicopters,' he said.
