　　What the study doesn't measure is whether people are still doing work when they' re at home, whether it is household work or work brought home from the office.

　　(1) 斷句：這個(gè)句子我們可以通過標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號(hào)也就是逗號(hào)來斷，先把這個(gè)句子斷為兩個(gè)部分。然后我們看看分出來的第一部分，好像還是有點(diǎn)長，所以我們還是要進(jìn)行斷句。觀察一下發(fā)現(xiàn)沒有標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號(hào)能夠幫助我們斷句，此時(shí)我們就需要借助另外的斷句標(biāo)志，也就是連詞幫助斷句。連詞分為并列連詞和從屬連詞。這里很明顯我們要用從屬連詞去斷句。What the study doesn't measure //is whether people are still doing work //when they' re at home因此這句話可以像這樣分為三個(gè)部分。

　　(2) 找主干：我們?cè)俜謩e來看一下斷開的四個(gè)部分的句子主干和修飾成分。What the study doesn't measure，這個(gè)部分中what引導(dǎo)了一個(gè)主語從句，在主語從句中，the study是主語，doesn't measure是謂語，what是賓語;is whether people are still doing work，這個(gè)部分中is是主句謂語，whether引導(dǎo)了一個(gè)表語從句，表語從句中people是主語，are still doing是謂語，work是賓語;when they' re at home，when引導(dǎo)了一個(gè)時(shí)間狀語從句，用來修飾people are still doing work;whether it is household work or work brought home from the office.這個(gè)句子是與第一個(gè)whether并列的表語從句，表語從句中有一個(gè)or連接的并列結(jié)構(gòu)，household work or work brought home from the office.是賓語的并列。

　　(3) 順句意：What the study doesn't measure;對(duì)于主語從句我們順譯即可，這一句的譯文為：這項(xiàng)研究沒有衡量;is whether people are still doing work，這個(gè)句子雖然說出現(xiàn)了一個(gè)賓語從句，但是結(jié)構(gòu)還是主謂賓這樣的簡單句，而且里面沒有復(fù)雜的修飾成分，只需順譯即可。這一句的譯文為：是人們是否仍然在工作;when they' re at home時(shí)間狀語從句內(nèi)部可以順譯，但是整體需要前置到所修飾的句子之前。這一句的譯文是：當(dāng)他們?cè)诩业臅r(shí)候。 whether it is household work or work brought home from the office.表語從句順譯就可以，注意并列結(jié)構(gòu)劃到一起理解。這句話的譯文是：是家務(wù)活還是從辦公室?guī)Щ丶业墓ぷ鳌?
