　     1: The Swiss Spaghetti Harvest

　　1957: The respected BBC news announced that thanks to a very mild winter and the virtual elimination of the dreaded spaghetti weevil, Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper spaghetti crop. It accompanied this announcement with footage of Swiss peasants pulling strands of spaghetti down from trees. Many called the BBC wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree. To this the BBC diplomatically replied, "place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."

　　在1957年，由于暖冬天氣和面條樹蟲大滅亡，使今年瑞士農民的意大利面條樹獲得了大豐收。伴隨這條新聞還配有一些畫面，我們看到瑞士農民正在從樹上摘意大利面。于是BBC接到了數(shù)百個咨詢電話，人們想知道他們如何才能在自家也種上面條樹。對這件事情BBC用很官方的態(tài)度進行了回應，“把一枝面條樹干插到一聽番茄醬中，接下來就是抱著希望等待它豐收啦。”
