一、教學目標
1、知識目標:學習本單元的詞匯和句型結構
1)
詞匯:
think of, soap, soap opera, situation, sitcom, nothing, ha, listing, mind, How about…?, super, host, agree, clip, hair clip, key ring, belt, wallet, fashion, opinion, idea, colorful
2)
句型結構:
What do you think of soap operas?

2、能力目標:
1) 學會陳述自己的看法和意見。
2) 學會談論自己的喜好。
3) 談論流行文化,了解各類電影和電視節(jié)目的名稱。

二、教學重、難點
1、重點:
學習及掌握陳述自己的看法、意見及喜好的詞匯和基本句型。
2、難點:
正確運用What do you think of …? 及I like/love/don’t like/can’t stand…等句型結構來表達對客觀事物的評價。

本單元建議用5個課時完成
第一課時section A 1a-1c
第二課時section A 2a-2c(grammar focus)

四、教學步驟
步驟1 就同學身邊有的物品詢問同學的看法。如:
What do you think of this pencil-case?
What do you think of this school bag?
What do you think of his hairsty le?
What do you think of her T-shirt?
步驟2 活動:實物展示,讓學生自由評價這些物品。展示的實物至少應該包括1a中所出現的物品,如:皮帶(belt),太陽鏡(sunglasses),表(watch),發(fā)卡(hair clip),鑰匙環(huán)(key ring),圍巾(scarf),錢夾(wallet)等。教學生詞,讓學生自由交談對所陳列的物品的意見,并形成對話。
步驟3 聽錄音,完成練習(2a)。
步驟4 聽錄音,完成練習(2b)。
步驟5 聽后活動:談論Carol和paul對所列出來的物品的意見和看法。
What does Carol think of the watch?
What does paul think of the sunglasses? Etc.
步驟6 活動:通過圖片展示各式各樣的能吸引學生興趣的物品(或接近學生生活實際的物品)。如:高級轎車(cars),牛仔褲(jeans),耐克運動鞋(sports shoes),肯得基快餐店(KFC)等。引導學生對這些物品發(fā)表自己的觀點,并談論父母對此的看法。注意引導學生正確對待高消費和不健康的生活方式。
第五課時(Section B 3a-4)
步驟1 就當前社會或學校里比較流行的活動或物品表達自己的觀點,教學本堂課中要學習的新詞:fashion, opinion, the coolest thing等。引導學生發(fā)表自己的觀點,或轉述他人的意見。

在評價學生的回答時,鞏固本堂課中要學習的新詞:fashion, opinion, the coolest thing等。
步驟2 初讀文章What’s Cool?,回答問題。
Who wrote this article?
What was the coolest thing?
步驟3 細節(jié)閱讀。讀文章What’s Cool?,回答問題。
What did Maria ask the students about?
How many things did she show to the students?
Who answered the questions?
Did all the students agree with each other?
Why did Maria think the coolest thing was the belt?
檢查學生的理解情況,并對部分語言點進行講解。
步驟4 寫作練習。根據要求完成一封寫給Maria的信。(3b)
訂正答案時,講解部分詞的用法。如enjoy doing sth.這一結構。
步驟5 活動:我做小記者。在同學中展開對校園文化的調查,如調查同學對校園環(huán)境的意見,對體育課的看法,對本班教室的看法等,并將結果和調查所得出的結論寫成報道。
