Fruits cancer prevention effective scientifically recognized

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is good for you. But when you are having cancer treatment or trying to prevent cancer from coming back, some fruits may be better than others.

Although there are no foods, and certainly no fruit can completely prevent or cure cancer.

However, some fruits may have anti-cancer properties. Here are the top 6 fruits with the ability to prevent cancer recommended by the American Institute of Cancer Research (AICR).

Which fruits effectively prevent cancer?

1. Oranges, grapefruit

Citrus fruits, like grapefruit and oranges, may help prevent several cancers. A large study in Japan found that people who ate citrus fruit or juice 3-4 days a week were less likely to develop cancer than those who ate them for 2 days or less in a week.

2. Apples

According to the American Institute of Cancer Research (AICR), people who regularly eat apples have a lower risk of lung cancer as well as some types of breast cancer.

3. Blueberries

藍(lán)莓

Dr Soma Mandal, a graduate of the School of Medicine, New York University (USA) said: "The dark green color of blueberries comes from anthocyanins, powerful compounds with antioxidant effects. Antioxidants have the function of inhibiting the formation of free radicals, rapidly changing molecules that are harmful to DNA.

And in fact, people who consume higher amounts of anthocyanins are less likely to experience inflammation and oxidative stress, AICR said.

4. Grapes

Succulent fruits are rich in the antioxidant resveratrol. Research by the University of Colorado Cancer Center, University of Colorado shows that this extract in grapes may play a role in preventing the growth of cancer of the stomach, breast, liver and lymph. One thing to note is that eating whole grapes will have a better cancer-preventing effect than drinking red wine.

5. Strawberries

草莓

They can be a sweet treat and at the same time a healthy "remedy". Strawberries contain many antioxidants such as flavonoids and tannins. In addition to removing harmful free radicals, according to a review by the United Arab Emirates University, these compounds are also believed to help fight DNA damage and inhibit cell growth cancer.

6. Cherry

Like strawberries and blueberries, cherries are rich in phytochemicals - which help to protect the cells in the body from damage that can lead to cancer. "These bioactive compounds can target key areas in the growth of cancer cells," says Dr. Mandal. Eating them regularly can help reduce signs of oxidative stress and inflammation. "
