A: Jerry, this is the third time you've been late this week, you were needed in that meeting today. Fortunately the deal was done, but it almost didn't happen.

A: 杰瑞，這是你本周第三次遲到了，今天的會議需要你參加。幸運(yùn)的是，這筆交易達(dá)成了，但它幾乎沒有發(fā)生。

B: I'm really sorry, but I was stuck in traffic. My car was sitting in the same spot for 30 minutes.

B: 真的很抱歉，我被堵在路上了。我的車在原地停了30分鐘。

A: If you're getting stuck in traffic every day, then you should leave the house earlier.

A: 如果你每天都堵在路上，那么你應(yīng)該早點(diǎn)出門。

B: I know, but that isn't the problem. Today was the first time that I was stuck in traffic, and it wasn't normal rush hour traffic either.

A: What do you mean?

B: Today traffic was stopped by a zebra.

A: A zebra?

B: Yeah, I saw a zebra walked right in front of my car, it was almost hit by another car. Other animals were seen on the freeway too, it was crazy!

A: You expect me to believe that you were delayed by a zebra?

B: It's true, it was talked about on the radio, you should listen to the report. It is thought that the animals escaped from the zoo.

B: 是真的，廣播里說過，你應(yīng)該聽聽報(bào)道。人們認(rèn)為這些動物是從動物園逃出來的。

A: I'm going to have to check out your story, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now.
