425　keep的用法

1　keep+形容詞 表示“保持”。

Please keep quiet . 請保持安靜。

Please keep healthy . 請保持健康。

2　keep+賓語+形容詞（或介詞短語等） 表示“把……保持在某一狀態(tài)”。

He kept the room tidy . 他把房間保持得很整潔。

Keep your hands clean . 你的手要保持清潔。

Keep your books in good order . 要使你的書保持整齊。

Please keep the door open . 請把門開著。

She kept the window closed all day. 她整天把窗戶關(guān)著。

3　keep sb. doing sth. 表示“讓／使某人做某事”，只能用現(xiàn)在分詞作賓語補(bǔ)足語，不能用不定式。

He kept us waiting for two hours. （正） 他讓我們等了2個小時。

He kept us to wait for two hours. （誤）

The heavy rain kept him staying at home. （正） 大雨使他待在家里。

The heavy rain kept him to stay at home. （誤）

4　keep on doing sth. 和 keep doing sth. 均表示“繼續(xù)做某事，反復(fù)做某事”，?？蓳Q用。

They kept on asking questions. 他們不停地問問題 。

They kept asking questions.

She kept on working far into the night. 她繼續(xù)工作，一直到深夜 。

She kept working far into the night.

He kept on troubling her. 他老是打擾她 。

He kept troubling her.

提示

①keep on doing sth.更強(qiáng)調(diào)動作的反復(fù)性或做事人的決心。

He keeps on phoning me, but I don't want to talk to him. 他老是給我打電話，但我不想同他講話。

Though he has failed three times, he kept on trying. 雖然他已失敗了3次，但他仍繼續(xù)干下去。

②對靜態(tài)動詞，常用keep doing sth.結(jié)構(gòu)。

He kept lying in bed all day long. 他整天都躺在床上。

She kept sitting in the room the whole morning. 她整個上午都在房間里坐著。

5　keep...from doing sth. 表示“阻止，使免于”。

Please keep the children from playing with fire. 請不要讓孩子們玩火。

He kept them from fishing in the lake. 他不讓他們在那個湖里捕魚。
