423　join, join in, take part in和attend

1　join 用作及物動詞，表示“參加，加入”，后面可以跟團體、組織作賓語，也可以跟人作賓語。常用搭配為：

join the army參軍

join the League入團

join the club參加俱樂部

join the Party入黨

join the team入隊

join sb. （代詞或名詞）和某人一起（干）

join sb. （代詞或名詞） in sth./ in doing sth. 和某人一起進行某項活動

He joined the army two years ago. 他2年前入伍的。

When did your brother join the Party ? 你哥哥什么時候入黨的？

Would you like to join us ? 你愿意和我們一起干嗎？

She joined the students in a walk. 她和學(xué)生們一起散步。

2　join 用作及物動詞，表示“連接”。

The two villages are joined by a bridge. 這兩個村莊被一座橋連接起來。

3　join in 表示“參加”某項活動或工作，后跟work, talk, match, game等。

He will join in the work. 他將參加這項工作。

Will you join in the game? 你參加這場比賽嗎？

Will you join in the talk ? 你參加談話嗎？

Will you join us in the talk ? 你參加我們談話嗎？

He joined in the match. 他參加了那場比賽。

He joined us in the match . 他和我們一起比賽。

4　join sth. to sth. 表示“把某物同某物連接起來”。

He joined this line to that one. 他把這條線同那條線連接起來。

5　join 是非延續(xù)性動詞，在完成時中不能同表示一段時間的狀語連用，要改用如下結(jié)構(gòu)：

have/ has been+in+the+團體名詞

has been+a+身份名詞 （單數(shù) ）

have been+身份名詞 （復(fù)數(shù) ）

It is+時間名詞+since從句 （用一般過去時 ）

They have joined the League for over two years. （誤）

They have been in the League for over two years. （正）

It is over two years since they joined the League. （正）

6　take part in 指參加活動、勞動、工作、事業(yè)、戰(zhàn)爭等，并起應(yīng)有的作用，?？赏琷oin in 換用。

His grandfather took part in the Second World War. 他爺爺參加過第二次世界大戰(zhàn)。

About thirty countries took part in the World Cup. 大約有30個國家參加了世界杯賽。

They are required to take part in the activity. 他們被要求參加這項活動。

7　attend 表示“出席”，相當(dāng)于be present，一般指出席會議、典禮、婚禮等，也可指聽課、聽報告等，為正式用詞。

He attended an important meeting yesterday. 他昨天出席了一個重要會議。

I'll attend a social gathering. 我將參加一個社交聚會。

attend to表示“專心于，留意”，attend on表示“侍候，看護”。
