It was a singular sight which met our eyes.

Round his brow he had a peculiar yellow band, with brownish speckles, which seemed to be bound tightly round his head.

As we entered he made neither sound nor motion.

從他的頭發(fā)中間昂然鉆出一條又粗又短、長(zhǎng)著鉆石型的頭部和脹鼓鼓的脖子、令人惡心的毒蛇。
