丘吉爾演講

Turning once again to the question of invasion,

I would observe that there has never been a period in all these long centuries of which we boast,

when an absolute guarantee against invasion, could have been given to our people.

再回到入侵的問(wèn)題上來(lái)，

以我觀之，在我們引以為豪的漫長(zhǎng)的數(shù)百年里，未曾有過(guò)一個(gè)時(shí)期，

可以給到人民一個(gè)完全不受外侵的保證！

But I have, myself, full confidence that

if all do their duty,

if nothing is neglected, and

if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made,

we shall prove ourselves once more able

to defend our island home,

to ride out the storm of war, and

to outlive the menace of tyranny,

但我自己，滿懷信心，

如果人人恪盡職守，

如果萬(wàn)事不懈怠，

如果凡事皆能未雨綢繆，

而這些也正在進(jìn)行之中，

我們將再次證明我們自己有能力去

捍衛(wèi)我們的島國(guó)家園，

抗擊戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的風(fēng)暴，并

扛得住暴政的威脅！

if necessary，for years,

if necessary，alone. At any rate,

that is what we are going to try to do.

That is the resolve of His Majesty's government - every man of them.

That is the will of parliament and the nation.

必要時(shí)，長(zhǎng)期抗?fàn)帲?/p>

必要時(shí)，孤身迎戰(zhàn)，無(wú)論如何，

這就是我們將傾盡所能所作出的行動(dòng)，

The British empire and the French republic,

linked together in their cause and in their need,

will defend to the death their native soil,

aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength.

大英帝國(guó)和法蘭西共和國(guó)，

基于同樣的緣由及需要，將攜手起來(lái)，

誓死捍衛(wèi)家園故土！

我們齊心互助，如同親密的戰(zhàn)友，全力以赴！

We shall go on to the end,

we shall fight in France,

we shall fight on the seas and oceans,

we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air,

we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be,

we shall fight on the beaches,

we shall fight on the landing grounds,

we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,

we shall fight in the hills，

we shall never surrender！

我們將戰(zhàn)斗到底，

我們將在法國(guó)作戰(zhàn)，

我們將在海洋上作戰(zhàn)，

我們將以日益增強(qiáng)的信心，和越發(fā)強(qiáng)大的力量在空中戰(zhàn)斗！

我們將保衛(wèi)國(guó)島，不惜任何的代價(jià)！

我們將在海灘上作戰(zhàn)，

我們將在登陸點(diǎn)作戰(zhàn)，

我們將在田野里，在街道上作戰(zhàn)，

我們將在山區(qū)里作戰(zhàn)，

我們絕不會(huì)投降！
