How you know what can you see a people is doing, from that you can tell where they from. Telltale signs 就是從一個人的行為舉止可以判斷出這個人是哪個國家的、文化是什么樣子的。
We will look at a funny list of top 10 culture differences that foreigners noticed. 一些外國人在了解中國文化之后，總結(jié)出了一個sum up，前10項中國人的特征，一看就知道這是中國人！
NO.10 Fight over who pays the dinner bill. 為誰來買單而打架。

‘ I'm gonna do it!’‘No! I 'm gonna do it!’ 中國人會為了搶著買單而fight over，打到醫(yī)院之后，又會繼續(xù)為了搶著出醫(yī)藥費而買單。
In America, people offer to pay the bill. But if you say ‘no, I wanna do it’ or ‘let me do it’ more than 2 times, people will just let you do it. 而在美國文化當(dāng)中，如果一個人說“我來買單吧”說兩遍，那么另一方就會毫不客氣的let you do it哦。美國文化里可是不存在“客氣”這件事情的。因為他們認為，總有一天你會treat back 請回來的
NO.9 Drive around looking for the best parking space. 開著車到處尋找最好的停車位。

Actually, right now, I spend a lot of time to drive around to look for a parking space, not the best one. 而現(xiàn)在對于翩翩老師來說，開車到處轉(zhuǎn)可不是為了找最好的停車位，能找到停車位就已經(jīng)很不容易啦。
If in summer， you want to find a parking space maybe with a tree over it. 美國人同樣也會去找最合適的停車位啊，尤其是在夏天，他們會更喜歡有樹蔭的停車位。所以這個中國人的特征并不是很typical很有“中國特色”啦。
NO.8 Take showers at night. 晚上洗澡。

In western countries,many people take showers in the morning. 中國人喜歡晚上洗澡，而在西方國家，很多人都是在早上洗澡的。
NO.7 Never hug their parents. 從不擁抱父母。

Chinese are too shy to show their love or intimacy to parents. 中國人對父母的親昵和愛總是羞于去表達，因此從不，或者很少去擁抱父母。
Most children hug their parents. 對歐美人來說，絕大多數(shù)的孩子都會擁抱他們的父母,physical touch 是一種表達愛的方式。
中外“孝順”的difference
Xiaoshun: It's a special word for the way a kid treading their parents when the kid is growing up. 中國的“孝順”是指：孩子在長大以后對待父母的一個特別的詞語，不可以用到其他人身上，只能用于父母。
Filial piety: It means loyalty to your parents. 英語當(dāng)中的“孝順”可以用filial piety來表達。But it's a technical word, not very common. 但這是一個術(shù)語，不是常用語。
NO.6 Have a Chinese knick-knack hanging on the rear view mirror. 在車內(nèi)的后視鏡上掛小飾物。

What is a kninck-knack? It's a small and cheap decoration. kninck-knack其實就是一個像中國結(jié)這一類的小飾物。外國人也會在車內(nèi)的后視鏡上掛一些小飾物，但不是中國結(jié)這種。
NO.5 Leave the plastic covers on your remote control. 把遙控器上的塑料袋留在上面。

中國人會為了keep it new 而把遙控器上的塑料袋留在上面不摘掉。也有一些家庭會把原本的plastic covers換成好看的保護袋。
而在美國文化當(dāng)中，大多數(shù)人可能會用cell phone cover, 但是可能不會Leave the plastic covers on your remote control。
NO.4 Like to sing karaoke. 喜歡唱K。
Most Americans don’t think about or do karaoke very much. Maybe at weddings. 美國人不太喜歡唱K, 即使是在婚禮上唱歌，也跟中國人在KTV里唱的不同。
Lots of Asian people like to sing karaoke. 唱K 可以說是一種亞洲文化，不僅僅是中國人喜歡唱，其他亞洲國家的人也喜歡唱K哦。
NO.3 Suck on the fish head. 吮吸魚頭。
Definitely not where I come from. 西方人可是不吃魚頭的喲。
In western countries, fish/ chicken/ pork serve as meat. 在西方國家，雞鴨魚肉極少會帶著骨頭上桌，永遠都是以肉相見。
NO.2 Like to eat chicken feet. 喜歡吃鳳爪。
In China, it's a common thing to eat chicken feet. But most Americans wouldn't even consider it. 中國人吃鳳爪很常見，但對于美國人來說，他們可是想都不敢想呢。所以這是不是夠“中國特色”呢？
NO.1 Drinking hot water. 喝熱水。

Most westerners don’t drink hot water. They prefer cold water or cool water, especially in the summer. 西方人喝水一定喝的是涼水，或者是room temperature water 常溫水，他們更喜歡直接從水龍頭接飲用水。
Either room temperature water or ice water. Never hot water.
